09.01.2022 2020 Slobodan Mirkovic - Serbian Australian Interstate Challenge - 03rd to 05th April 2020 - URGENT UPDATE - COVID-19 (Event Cancellation/Postponed TBD) Dear Friends & Members, The VGSC feel the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic everywhere we turn. Its extraordinary to experience something this global and yet so personal. We would like to inform you that the Australian Serbian Howlong 2020 Event (Slobodan Mirkovic Cup) has been cancelled & will be re-scheduled to later in the ...year. The VSGC were informed by Howlong Golf Club & Resort that based on Health Instructions from Australian Authorities the Format, Size Gathering & Event scheduled for April will require a major overhaul to meet the Health & Safety guidelines which are deemed critical for the wellbeing of every member & guest. The VSGC have agreed to adhere to the recommendation of both Howlong Golf Club & the Australian Health Authorities to ensure health & welfare of all members, guests & friends. At this stage the VSGC will re-schedule the Slobodan Mirkovic Cup to later in the year, this will allow all guests from around Australia to cancel their flights & either get reimbursed or obtain a travel credit. The VSGC will honour all payments made by entrants & once a new date is issued, all members & guests will be informed & we expect this will be a smooth transition. The VSGC will keep all members, guest & friends informed as the situation progresses, we hope that the COVID-19 issue will be quickly resolved & well be able to freely gather without any risk, please note once a new date is set for the Slobodan Mirkovic Cup, should any entrant feel they are unable to attend, the VSGC will work with you to reimburse your funds (further details will be provided in due course). Like you, our commitment is to ensure that our Club is healthy and empowered to do everything we can to continue to hold the Slobodan Mirkovic Cup. Were taking steps to reduce our exposure to infection and limit VSGC personnel from potentially contracting or spreading COVID-19, in line with recommendations from the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and local and federal authorities. 01.01.2022 Talk about lucky .... on a day when there was nothing forecast but cloud and rain, we got not a single drop while playing. I want to thank the brave that showed to play . We said a few words to remember our departed friend Jeff Willey, knocked back a few shots of rocket fuel and took off .... well at lest Luke Connors did ... a brilliant Nett 67, and I scored it, so it’s right !! Well played Luke Connors. Looking forward to seeing our Sydney friends at Mount Broughton next month.
