09.01.2022 From the pages of my blog Full moon practise ~ An opportunity for change. April 12, 2017... What I love about the full moon is that its yet another opportunity to spend some time tuning-in to thoughts and behaviours that no longer serve me and practise some steps to get me moving in a more fulfiling direction. I find that simply "thinking" about change, doesnt really cut it for me, I need engage my body, mind and soul, in order to see real change in my life. 1. Create a sacred space . Bring your journal along to somewhere that inspires you; wether it be a place in nature (beach, forest even the yard) or create a little private space at home. I like spread out a blanket and honor the process by bringing some special items along to decorate the space. Today I chose the beach and bought along some fresh picked flowers and some gorgeous music to play for inspiration. Other items I like to use are perhaps some crystals, candles or incense, especially if I am practising inside the home . 2. Get grounded. I chose a lovely track called "expand into intuitive knowing" by Jai-Jagdeesh to accompany my mediation. I sit with my feet planted on the ground and simply listen to my breath with eyes closed and feel the physical connection to Mother Earth. 3. Write it out! After I have completed some time in meditation, I begin to write out all of the thoughts, behaviours, fears and worries I would like to let go of; I find that it helps to get really specific, after all this is the opportunity to really let go of all that weighing me down. Then on a seperate page , I write all of which I wish to see in place of the negative behaviours. If it is " I wish to let go of worrying about my mothers health" I write " I sit in trust that my mother is doing her best to look after her physical needs". 4. Let it go! After I have written all I need to, i take the page with the negative writing and set it alight whilst announcing to the world " I let it all this go, be gone" 5. Keep an eye open for miracles. I like to check back a few weeks later (the next new moon) to see how my writings are starting to manifest in my life. As I have planted the seed of change in my mind, I find myself naturally moving towards more positive thoughts and behaviours without giving it much thought. The more I participate in this gentle process of letting go and focusing on what I would like to see in its place, the more I see real change in my life . Enjoy the process.
