Is it time to act locally because they want to do the same here? If you haven't noticed ALCOA is on the move and is back in SJ clear felling huge areas. is it time to act?

22.01.2022 Im delighted to see that our Government will soon be reviewing our dietary guidelines - a great way to end National Diabetes Week! In the meantime, we need to... see a far-reaching awareness campaign to warn Australians about the multitude of health dangers of sugar and refined carbs, and the fact that natural saturated fats in our diet have never been linked to cardiovascular disease. 14.01.2022 This will be a very interesting session and will shine some light on the erroneous information that has been 'fed' to us for decades about what we should be eating.

13.01.2022 What a great project! It is great to see young people being provided with the opportunity to participate in a terrific project that has good consequences for the future.
13.01.2022 Did you know that foxes pose a health risk to humans and pets, through the transmission of diseases such as distemper, parvovirus and mange? Not only do they do... spread diseases, but they also heavily predate on livestock, sheep farmers can lose up to 40% of newborn lambs in one season! It’s never too late to learn a new skill and Landcare SJ has enlisted the help of the Peel Harvey Biosecurity Group to provide you with the opportunity to learn from experienced fox controllers at a local property in Serpentine on Friday 20 November. Attendees will be given loads of practical tips and information, and go home with some useful resources. The workshop is supported by the Peel-Harvey Catchment Council through funding from the Alcoa Foundation Restoring the Serpentine River Project and Three Rivers, One Estuary Initiative.
12.01.2022 The US has cleared the way for synthetic biology (which is really genetic modification) to produce the artificial bleeding effect in plant based burgers. Are you willing to allow this happen in Australia? If not, keep your eyes open for the necessary action to prevent it. Australia is notorious for rubber stamping US approvals. They are just about to release GM Cotton all over our country. Me thinks it is better that we all know who is growing our food ......and how! That is the beauty of a local Farmers' Market. It is coming!!
12.01.2022 Here's your list of producers for this weeks farmers market.
12.01.2022 Ever need to do an email campaign? Here is a FREE opportunity to figure it out.
11.01.2022 A wonderful night with plenty of eager, likeminded people!
10.01.2022 Here is one case study that shows how farming with regenerative processes turns a better profit.
10.01.2022 The Royal Show is not happening this year but there is a Spring Farm Fair available during the school holidays. You MUST buy tickets on line and spaces are limited so COVID safety measures can be met. https://www.raswa.org.au/media-release-spring-farm-fair/
09.01.2022 Check out the free verge plant offer! Volunteers are also needed to help these projects too.
08.01.2022 Is this a line of thought that we should be pursuing? The SJ Food and Farm Alliance thinks so. Hence, we do things like delivering the annual (absent COVID crisis) Food and Farm Fest, run workshops to enable people to become more locally independent and now we are working on a REAL Farmers' Market. Keep you eyes open for more information on that.
08.01.2022 Interested in tendering for government contracts?
08.01.2022 Want to know why regenerative farming is so important to all of us? Check out this story on ABC Australian Story night at 8pm or I View.
08.01.2022 The 21-Day Immunity Plan. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to write a review of Aseem Malhotras lifesaving book... Over three quarters of the worlds p...opulation is likely to be metabolically unhealthy and a diet thats high in sugar, low quality carbohydrates and ultra-processed foods is the underlying culprit. Our poor metabolic health in turn is responsible for the vast majority of chronic diseases including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, heart attack, stroke and many cancers, and also makes us more susceptible to death from viruses such as COVID-19. In his latest book The 21 Day Immunity Plan, Dr Aseem Malhotra has clearly and concisely communicated the science and rationale underlying this preventable modern epidemic and has given us an easy to follow prescription, free from medication, that can reverse many of the worlds ills. Its a two-hour read that might just save your life... See more
08.01.2022 Bees......one of the tragic statistics associated with industrial farming methods. Let's really learn to appreciate our LOCALLY produced, seasonal products and learn to work with the natural order of things.
06.01.2022 Here's something we all need to know.
05.01.2022 A little rainy, Sunday morning reading for a thorough rationale for why we MUST regenerate our soils as a priority. It is a matter of survival for our environment and biodiversity and, co-incidentally, the human race......plunderers and malfeasance agents that we are.
05.01.2022 We should all know about this......find it at the library in Mundijong. If you need to know more The CRC is running a First Aid course on Sept 19th. Spaces are limited though so sign up early.
05.01.2022 Looking for a job? The food and farm industries are crying out for people to do a wide range of jobs starting very soon. Try the website below for further info. https://www.jobsinwafoodandag.com/
04.01.2022 Here's an opportunity for all SJ producers of food and beverages to have your products promoted region wide.......and it's FREE https://www.peel.wa.gov.au/guide/

04.01.2022 We are very pleased to be able to share this program with you. What an opportunity to get seeds that work in our environment.
04.01.2022 This is what happens when supply chains become convoluted, run by huge corporations and markets are far removed from the source of the product. I wonder what we can learn from this?
01.01.2022 I wonder if our new farmers market will be part of this movement? Keep your eyes open!
01.01.2022 Take a peek at this.
