23.01.2022 Season Greetings from Controller George Kircos and the team at SES Stratford. Have a lovely Christmas, travel safely and best wishes for a happy and healthy 2020!

23.01.2022 Storms brought down trees across the region last night. This tree came down on Stockdale - Munro Road, Stockdale and is a reminder to all to take care on local roads. Look ahead, look up! As winter approaches the potential for falling trees in high winds and rain increases. Please drive to the conditions. Stay safe!

21.01.2022 A lucky escape for the driver and the occupants of this car and house in Stratford last night. The call for assistance was responded to by local police, CFA, ambulance and 9 of our members SES assisted with removal of the car, house stabilisation, weather protection and public safety at the scene afterward. As a member of SES you never know what each call out will bring, but it is always a chance to help someone else. Consider giving to the community through SES. Contact us today to enquire about joining.

19.01.2022 SES Stratford member Brian Norris wears his other cap and blessed the fleet at Port Albert today. Pictured here with the Port Albert volunteer Coast Guard. Like the SES, they also welcome new members.

16.01.2022 Members of Stratford Unit, Controller George Kircos (kneeling 2nd from left) and Deputy Controller Wayne Ross (kneeling 4th from left) were part of a taskforce helping support the community at Mallacoota recently. Members of the taskforce came from a variety of units and provide a great example of how the SES family work together to help others.

16.01.2022 Thank you to journalist Sarah Luke from the Gippsland Times for her article recognising SES volunteers as "orange angels" on 26/5/2020. While the article focuses on SES Stratford and Controller George Kircos's involvement at a personal level, it fairly reflects the motivation and satisfaction members of SES generally. The article can be found at: https://aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/ Thank you Gippsland Times for your interest in SES. We would also like to recognise the work of neighbouring units in Lochsport, Maffra, Rosedale, Sale and Yarram.

13.01.2022 While others slept, the SES Stratford team were dealing with a fallen tree at Dargo overnight. With storm events, falling trees are a hazard for motorists. Be vigilant - look ahead and also watch up.

12.01.2022 The SES takes training seriously. This weekend member Tim Harper participated in the first of two Road Crash Rescue courses which included understanding tool use and capacity. Controller George Kircos and the Stratford team extend their thanks to Tim for making himself available to help the community in this way. If this is something you can see yourself doing please contact George or come to our next training night on 18/3/2020.

11.01.2022 From helping with the bushfire effort in Heyfield to helping at a rescue in bush land this weekend, SES Stratford has been there working closely with other aid agencies.

10.01.2022 In recognition of the fallen Victoria Police members last week, Controller George Kircos and Safety Officer Aaron Smith last night (Wednesday 29/4/2020) sounded Stratford SES's vehicle sirens at 5:40pm. (Photo image courtesy Victoria Police in Memoriam Facebook Page)

To learn more come along to the SES Stratford headquarters on the 1st, 3rd and 4th Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm. There's a summary of our recent activity in the Stratford Town Crier on page 8. 06.01.2022 This Saturday, we will remember them. Lest we forget.
