14.01.2022 September 29th is National Police Remembrance Day and today we remember fallen Police officers who gave their lives protecting our communities. This year we especially remember the 4 members who tragically lost their lives in April on the Eastern Fwy and we send our thoughts and best wishes to their family, friends and colleagues. #WeWorkAsOne... #victoriapolice See more

13.01.2022 a busy night for the SES in Gippsland last night

13.01.2022 At 8.30 this evening we got a page to another tree down on the Great Alpine Rd this time in Ensay so we deployed a crew of our volunteers to attend and on arrival there was also a small landslide. The road was quickly cleared with our crew working in conjunction with Victoria Police and VicRoads

11.01.2022 REMEMBRANCE DAY Every year at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month we pause for a minute to remember the service, courage and sacrifice of those who have served their country. We pause to remember those who lost their lives in the line of duty and those who fought for the freedoms we have today. While this year we are unable to gather at local cenotaphs or at the Shrine, there will be a virtual Remembrance Day service broadcast online via the Shrine ...of Remembrance Facebook page from 10.45am. Or simply pause for a minute, where ever you are. #remembranceday20 #victoriaremembers #redtoremember

10.01.2022 The Great Alpine Rd is currently closed between Omeo and Dinner Plain after an accident. Road expected to be closed for up to 4 hours

09.01.2022 Here at the Tambo Valley SES, we are trained in many skills that we use when we are called upon. During the bushfires back in January, we were asked to keep the generators running that were providing power for the region after the power supply was destroyed by fire. After being trained to refuel and run these generators this enabled the Ausnet workers to be evacuated and our region to keep power going. On Nov 5, Ausnet Services dropped by and presented us with a cheque for $1...100 as a thank you for what we done. We rely on donations to be able to keep up to date with equipment and with the mountain bike tracks being built in Omeo we will be putting this money towards the $3500 to purchase a mule wheeled stretcher to assist local Ambos carry out injured riders. Here is an article in this week's Bairnsdale Advertiser about our Unit Controller, Shane Peach

06.01.2022 Tambo Valley Support was back in action after a GVM & suspension upgrade and a smart bar fitted. We had State Support 3 up here in its place for 2 weeks to allow the work to be carried out which was out in action over it's time here.

06.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all Dads, Step-Dads, Granddads and Single Mums who do both roles. We hope you all have a great day. Stay Safe

06.01.2022 A big thank you to the Bairnsdale Commonwealth Bank for the $500 donation from the Commonwealth Bank Staff Social & Charity Club. This money will be put towards the purchase of our Mule stretcher.

04.01.2022 Three Victorian’s were tragically killed by falling trees in the strong winds on August 27 this year Strong northerly winds will again bring a risk of falling trees for large parts of the state on Saturday Peak gusts of around 100kmp/h are likely above 400m (including the Dandenong Ranges) with gusts increasing up to 110km p/h on Saturday morning... Increased moisture in the soil from recent rain can compromise tree structures, whilst trees impacted by previous recent storm events may have dislodged branches or weakened structures which only elevates the risk Monitor conditions and remain vigilant to the risk on Saturday If you are outdoors and there are strong winds, avoid walking or sitting underneath trees. Monitor conditions and try to time your exercise or visit to the park outside of the strongest winds. The safest place to be during a storm is indoors Avoid unnecessary travel. Don’t be on the road if you don’t have to particularly in leafy areas. If you must be on the roads please drive to the conditions. For emergency assistance to floods or storms, phone the SES on 132 500.
