21.01.2022 This morning upon entering the Junior Kindy yard I saw you laying on the mat. As I approached you I asked, Are you sleepy Tate?. You immediately turned to look at me & said Cuddles?. We laid down together, on the mat and you stroked the side of my face. You listened to me ask you questions and make statements about our environment. Did you feel that leaf fall on your hand I asked, you offered a small smile in return. You gave me a little giggle every now and again, and... pulled me closer to ensure I wasn’t moving away. You continued to stroke the side of my face, while I did the same at the back of your head, until you fell asleep. I stayed laying with you for a short while before I picked you up and gently placed you in your bed for a rest. Sweet dreams Tate Our Staff Make the Difference at Sesame Lane Morayfield

20.01.2022 To all our Families, Parents and Children, a friendly reminder to please continue with strict hand washing and sanitising routines. Let’s turn hygiene into a habit. Don't forget to social distance when you’re out. We would also like to keep the number of people entering our Services to a minimum so we would appreciate it if only one adult enters the Service to drop off or pick up children. We’re all in this together, let’s continue to stop the spread. Keep safe and take care

18.01.2022 How to implement a 'plant to plate' philosophy at home!

18.01.2022 Hi Everybody! We've got a great recipe for you! The children are often asking for jam so... we've made a tasty, healthy jam and it's been approved by kids! Chia Seed Jam. It's easy, just blend 2 cups of frozen raspberries with 2 tablespoons of chia seeds for a beautiful sweet jam. But what are Chia Seeds? They're from the plant Salvia Hispanica which is related to mint! It contains Omega-3 fatty acids, fibre, iron and calcium. Why not give this healthy jam recipe a try!

16.01.2022 A reminder that all Sesame Lane centres are closed on Monday 10th August for the Moreton Bay Region Show Day holiday. We hope you all have a relaxing long weekend. See you all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on Tuesday morning!

15.01.2022 When we asked our Educators what the biggest road block to further study is for them, the majority said the financial burden prevented them from making the commitment. So we've partnered with Swinburne University of Technology Online to financially sponsor our Educators to complete the Bachelor of Education (Childhood & Primary). We're very proud of our Educators who stepped up to the call and welcomed the opportunity to advance their careers. Well done team! Tag someone you think belongs at Sesame Lane! #onedreamoneteam #ourstaffmakethedifference #nevertoolatetolearn

15.01.2022 In the eyes of children we find the joy of Christmas. In their hearts we find its meaning. Each year, we have the great joy of watching children experience their first Christmas; our parents and families revisiting old traditions and starting new ones. It's a privilege and joy to be a part of so many children's lives. We would like to thank each and every one of you for entrusting your little ones into our care. ... We wish you all a very happy Christmas full of love, smiles, cuddles and wonder. A reminder we will be closed on Friday 25th December and Monday 28th December. We can't wait to hear all about Santa, treats and what our children experienced over the break. Stay safe and take care, The Team at Sesame Lane

10.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Dear Families, As you may have seen in the news, there have been new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in some South Brisbane suburbs. The safety and wellbeing of our families, staff and our wider community, are at the heart of all we do and as such, we wanted to provide you with an update on how this may impact the operation of Sesame Lane.... Until we have a better understanding of the effect and potential local spread of COVID-19 in our community, we are again minimising the number of non-staff adults attending our centres. We ask that only one parent enter the centre on drop off and pick up. We want to assure you that we have maintained our stringent hygiene practices and want to remind our families about the importance of hand washing, using sanitiser, social distancing and importantly, if you or your child is feeling unwell or showing any flu like symptoms, please stay at home until you are well again. We thank you once again for your continued support and your contribution to keeping our community safe. Please dont hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Kind regards Kerri Smith Head of Sesame Lane

07.01.2022 Christmas Gift Drive This year has been a rough year for all of us, especially so for children in foster care who have been cut off from a lot of their outside support network. We are collecting new, unwrapped gifts for children aged 0 to 18 in support of The Pyjama Foundation who run a reading and literacy program for children who haven't had the best start in life and who are in foster care. Please add a note to your shopping list. Our gift drive will end on November 30th so you have plenty of time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

01.01.2022 One of the best things to come out of a tough year has been a stronger sense of community sparked by random acts of kindness. There are little things we can all do and they don’t have to cost a cent. Be inspired, go out and do some good today.

01.01.2022 We are excited to announce that we are able to remain open and operating, care for all children will return to regular tomorrow with appropriate risk mitigation strategies in place. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk stated the lockdown will end at 6pm today (Monday 11th January) but some restrictions will continue until 22nd January. Residents in the council areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay and Redlands must continue to wear masks indoors as a precautionary mea...sure. We ask parents to continue to wear a mask into the centre when dropping off your children. Children under the age of 12 years are not required to wear a mask. We do ask that children who are vulnerable or at risk to please be kept at home during this period. Staff will wear a mask when speaking with families, in the foyer and in their staff room. On advice from QLD Health, we will allow staff to remove their mask when working/communicating with the children in the rooms. We will continue to monitor the health status of all staff working with the children. I would like to thank you for your cooperation and support, and as always please do not hesitate to contact your Service Manager if you have any questions.
