24.01.2022 Happy birthday Miss Olivia Owens! Last Friday Olivia celebrated her birthday with her Junior Kindy friends and work mates ! Hipp hipp hooray to you from everyone at Clontarf Sesame Lane !

23.01.2022 Look at our beautiful space on our side veranda. We have created a multi purpose space for the children. The Kindergarten children use the tables for their mealtimes. It such an uplifting space to eat and socialise. I often tell you of our generous and kind community we have here at Clontarf Sesame Lane. The beautiful table under the trees was made by CHEP pallets using leftover hardwood. Hudson Fenton’s Dad works for CHEP and he and his team made this beautiful table for the children! It is a lovely calm space to just sit and be !

23.01.2022 It looked like an early Christmas at Clontarf today!! We had a big equipment order arrive at the centre. The children and educators were excited to see what the boxes contained. Keep your eyes out for the new equipment in use for the children. The educators and children discussed what they would like to have to in their environment to assist with their learning and enjoyment.

23.01.2022 Play is a context for learning that: allows for the expression of personality and uniqueness enhances dispositions such as curiosity and creativity assists children to develop relationships and concepts stimulates a sense of wellbeing.... Children actively construct their own understandings and contribute to others’ learning. These Toddlers show all of the above criteria. These children have been together since the Nursery room and they play with each other they have created social groups, challenge each other’s thinking and build new understandings. The bond is obvious as they joyously rock together. See more

22.01.2022 We had 2 celebratory occasions this week ! Miss Anaca and Miss Olivia completed their studies and were awarded their certifications. Anaca was our apprentice studying and training for her Diploma of Children Services. In between working and studying she is also a mother of a young child. So well done Anaca we are proud of your accomplishments. Olivia has steadily trained and quietly studied her Certificate 3 in Children Services over the past 2 years whilst working full time. We have all witnessed Olivia’s confidence grow into a young professional educator. Well done Olivia! Congratulations from the whole Sesame Lane family!

21.01.2022 Today our beautiful Miss Deepa is sharing a special day with everyone at Clontarf Sesame Lane. Diwali, also known as Deepawali, is the Hindu festival of lights which is celebrated by Indians all over the globe. Deepavali, which translates as ‘a row of lights’ is one of the most significant Hindu festivals and is celebrated over a period of 5 days. We will have dancing, food and celebrating to recognise this lovely festival. Wear something bright and shiny today to reflect the light!

20.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC week. NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia normally each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year 2020 due to the COVID 19 restrictions it was postponed until this week. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week we have extra activities for the children and educators to participate in to recognise our First Nation community. Families would be aware of how we try very hard to embed an indigenous perspective into everything we do in our centre.

15.01.2022 Part of our professional development educators participate in fire training and last night the educators at Kippa Ring and Clontarf joined together to refresh our knowledge on what to do if we have a fire emergency. Part of the training also included using a fire extinguisher! Thank you to everyone who came in their own time to update their skills and knowledge!

14.01.2022 This week is National Child Protection Week. It means in order to grow up well, children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. Throughout the week the educators and children will discuss and reflect on what it means to feel safe and loved. The rights of the child is a huge priority for our team at Clontarf Sesame Lane.

08.01.2022 https://youtu.be/4Ng6N5pMc2Q Clontarf Sesame Lane is part of a campaign to promote awareness that a simple behavioural change - LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK - it can save a child's life.To ensure no child is left unattended in a vehicle, anyone transporting children, including parents and carers, should always check their vehicle and take other steps before, during and after any journey. Look for the bright sign on our front door ! We will send out tips to encourage and support families to have a ritual when transporting children.

03.01.2022 Families can we surprise the Educators at Clontarf Sesame Lane and show your love and appreciation? I work with a team of diverse but caring women and man who every day put in 110 % . Their motivation is your children. The planning and implementation of interesting and caring environments. To witness the engagements and nurturing fills me with promise of the future! Your relationship with the educators warms me every day. This is part of the secret to children who grow and develop into secure adults. SO agent together with your children and write a note or make a cake to show a gesture of your appreciation! Thank you Therese PS it’s a surprise !!!!!

02.01.2022 Christmas Gift Drive This year has been a rough year for all of us, especially so for children in foster care who have been cut off from a lot of their outs...ide support network. We are collecting new, unwrapped gifts for children aged 0 to 18 in support of The Pyjama Foundation who run a reading and literacy program for children who haven't had the best start in life and who are in foster care. Please add a note to your shopping list. Our gift drive will end on November 30th so you have plenty of time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

01.01.2022 Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment. I caught this beautiful photo as I was leaving work for the day. I watched from my car as Arlo helped tidy up from the day’s play. It was one of those moments where the seemingly simple action translates into so much more as an observer in early childhood education. Children will demonstrate the above outcome of being environmentally responsible through many ways - watering and caring for the garden, bringing in recycled materials.

01.01.2022 Happy weekend everyone!
