23.01.2022 BE AWARE - FALLING TREES Fire affected areas and gusty winds are a recipe for trees and branches to fall. We have seen many trees falling throughout fire affect...ed areas in the past few days. We are asking the community to stay vigilant and alert to the danger of falling trees, particularly around roads and trails. Thunderstorms are predicted for the next few days from tomorrow, with rain comes an increase in the chances of trees to fall as the ground begins to soften. 22.01.2022 We have teams on standby. DAMAGING WIND WARNING from the Bureau of Meteorology... Vigorous Winds Ahead of a cold front. A cold front lies over southwest New South Wales, and is expected to progress through southeastern and central parts of New South Wales during Thursday. Vigorous and gusty winds are forecast ahead of the front. For areas above 1900 metres: DAMAGING WINDS, averaging 80 to 90 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 120 km/h are expected. For areas below 1900 metres: DAMAGING WINDS, averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible for the Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains, Australian Capital Territory, Illawarra and parts of the Central Tablelands, South Coast and South West Slopes districts. These winds are possible about elevated locations from early this morning, extending to coastal parts later this morning. Trees and branches in fire-affected areas may be more susceptible to falling than usual. Winds are expected to ease this evening. Issued at 3:12 pm Tuesday, 3 March 2020. HEAVY RAIN WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.FOR PARTS OF INLAND AND SOUTH-EAST NSW. Plan Image Weather Situation: Ex-Tropical Cyclone Esther is approaching New South Wales, deepening a trough over the western inland. Esther is expected to enter north-west NSW during Wednesday, moving over the south-east of the state on Thursday, intensifying rainfall over parts of inland and south-east NSW as it crosses. 05.01.2022 Know your risk If you live close to a creek, river, major storm water drain or in a lowlying area, you may be at risk from floods. https://bit.ly/2GNdCO3

04.01.2022 Fire Spread Prediction for Friday 10 January 2020 Severe to Extreme fire danger is forecast for parts of NSW tomorrow, including southern areas of the state. Te...mperatures are forecast to be in the high 30s to low 40s with hot, dry north-westerly winds and low humidity. A south-westerly change will impact inland fires tomorrow afternoon and evening, and a gusty southerly change will impact coastal fires from late tomorrow evening, reaching Nowra around midnight. These conditions will make fire behaviour erratic and dangerous. This map display the potential predicted fire spread and the communities that may come under threat from embers or fire fronts. Other surrounding areas may still come under threat if conditions change, or if fires breach containment lines. There may potentially be new fires burning in these areas that we do not yet know about, which may threaten you without warning. Potential spread area - if your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, you should not be in this area on Friday. Move to a large town outside this area, or if you are on the South Coast, move to an area that has already been burnt or go to the beach. Stay away from the red areas. Potential ember attack area - You are still at risk. If your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, you should not be in this area on Friday. New fires could start and spread quickly. If you are in the general areas identified on this map, be vigilant for new fires that may start well ahead of the fire front. High res versions are available on our website at https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au//predicted-fire-spread-for-frid

01.01.2022 Floodwater may be deeper and faster flowing than it appears and often contains hidden snags and debris. Even if a flooded road does not have a 'road closed' or... 'road flooded sign', it is still unsafe to travel through floodwater. Never drive ride or walk through floodwater - if it's flooded, forget it.

01.01.2022 Brolly time? NSW SES had a chat with Bureau of Meteorology and they’ve told us that the east coast can expect some rain developing later today with th...e chance of a thunderstorm. Over the next day or two, rain combined with a shift in prevailing wind direction should clear the smoke haze that’s been about much of Sydney and other areas. Possible short bursts of rainfall may create hazardous driving conditions later today, but at this stage severe thunderstorms are unlikely for Sunday. Lazy Sunday’s... before the rain... a good time to check your gutters and drains and #getready for Summer #StormSeason Of course, if you need us for emergency assistance due to storm damage, we are only a call away on 132 500. In the meantime, many of our Vertical Rescue operators are training at our headquarters and on Mt Keira while it’s dry. We’ll share some pics later on IMAGE: Forecast areas for likelyhood of severe thunderstorms.
