14.01.2022 Hastings SES crew was called to Somers today, to a kite surfer struggling on the water along with Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria Thankfully the kite surfer had made it to shore, and was fine. We had our trusty Mule ready to go if the person needed to be taken to the ambulance. The Mule was bought with donations made by Somerville Family Day ... Second picture is of our mule in action, during training. Interested in joining us? Email [email protected] We rely on generous donations from the community to operate and raise funds. 10.01.2022 Our tree from this afternoon won the battle with a telephone pole. A great example of how safety drives our decisions, to protect our community and our members.

09.01.2022 A flood event is the last thing Victorian’s need in 2020, but SES is preparing for it with our partner emergency services, and we need the community to prepare for it too! Please share this post with friends and family, and those who do not use social media. ses.vic.gov.au/get-ready

08.01.2022 VICSES members have been unable to complete face to face training due to the recent restrictions and to keep our members are the public safe. We are happy to tell our community that you may begin seeing us training in small groups, as we practice essential skills to ensure we are ready to respond to our communities emergencies. We will be following all COVIDsafe principles whilst completing this training.

06.01.2022 The storm warning areas have been changing rapidly today. Please keep up to date by installing the Vic Emergency app. The slightest wind or rain has been bringing down trees lately, so you should still take precautions before going to bed tonight.

05.01.2022 Today we pause to remember the Police Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice whilst working for our community. Thank you to all the Police Officers that are out there in our community day and night, keeping us safe. #BlueRibbonDay #VICPOL Victoria Police

04.01.2022 Not an ideal situation walking out to find a tree on your car! But at least our members have been out to remove the offending tree in Merricks North today. Interested in joining us? 04.01.2022 Our members were called out yesterday afternoon to this large up rooted tree that was leaning on the residents house with some external damage. Due to the large vines wrapping around the tree, this one took three members several hours to get through. We were able to ensure the residents house would not be further damaged, and they had safe access. Great work everyone... Interested in joining us?
