03.01.2022 Good afternoon SES NCR Today is RUOK? Day. It has been a difficult year with many experiencing anxiety and social isolation, job loss or income insecurity as a result of COVID-19. RUOK? Day is a good reminder to do what SES members do best care about other people in their community. Whether family, friend, team member or neighbour, connecting with people and reaching out to them can make a huge difference in a day or in a life. Check out some of the resources available on t...he QFES pages to support the conversations that can happen after you ask RUOK? Take care of yourselves and others. 02.01.2022 SES Week 2020 Life Membership Awards have been presented to just a handful of SES Volunteers since it’s introduction for the 40th Anniversary of SES four years ago. Each Region across the State is normally limited to recognising one member per region per year who have been recognised for their strong, outstanding individual commitment and special contribution to the service over an extended period. This year TWO North Coast Region members have been awarded our highest lev...el of membership: Graeme Dean and Stan Ryan Graeme Dean As one of the longest serving members of the Maroochydore Group, Graeme has been a dedicated member for 33 years, logging an impressive 2886 volunteer hours, and he is also currently the Maroochydore Deputy Group Leader. In the nomination, Graeme was described as calm, conscientious, with a dry sense of humour. A member who sets an excellent example to all and often mentors others. He is very active in the community operationally as well as in community engagement activities. He is also a very valued trainer both at unit, group and regional level. Congratulations Graeme on your Lifetime Member Award Stan Ryan Stan has been an active member of the SES for over 39 years, contributing over 4000 volunteer hours. He is a member of the Cooroy Group in the Noosa SES Unit. Stan served as the Noosa Local Controller from 1992 2004 and again from 2010 2017. He holds qualifications and operator appointments in six SES functions and is also a highly regarded trainer in many of these areas. His leadership and conduct is acknowledged as being exemplary and he is a highly valued member of not only the Noosa Unit but also across the North Coast Region. Congratulations Stan on your Lifetime Member Award
02.01.2022 #ANZACDay2020 was commemorated in a very different way on Saturday 25 April. Instead of providing community safety support at Dawn Services or marching in parades across the region, SES members and their families proudly marked the solemn occasion in their own homes and driveways. Thanks to the many members who showed their respect and who shared their personal commemoration with us. #LestWeForget
