24.01.2022 Great photo taken yesterday of our unit Controller in the middle Billy McNamara and our four newly qualified General Rescue members- Dan Mckeag, John Hawker, Raphael Wickham and Rafal Bara. Well done on becoming official General Rescue Volunteers. Thank you to all involved in the course, thank you to the Colac SES for your hospitality and for hosting the assessment at your Head Quarters.... Also a big welcome to our new members fantastic effort everyone.

23.01.2022 The Bureau of Meteorology has today released preliminary findings into the Geelong severe weather event on Wednesday, which was most likely a tornado It gener...ated winds of up to 160 km/h, with VICSES volunteers responding to over 200 requests for assistance in the area. 21.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who came along to the Lavers Hill Community Fire Refuge open day on Saturday. We had demonstrations from Otway Rural Fire brigade, Otway SES and Ambulance Victoria. The community got too see these agencies showcase their knowledge and skills and had an opportunity to have a look around the Community Fire Refuge building. We also had a sausage sizzle and a catch up with the wonderful Otway people. Thank you to everyone involved in the event and to the Community members who could be there. What a great day !
