16.01.2022 What do your rituals for honouring look like? Turns out mine has been going since I could put pen to paper. Yesterday I got a message from my mum sharing with me a ‘love note’ that I wrote for her 20 years ago!! ... Yup, blast from the past alright. I was 13 when I wove those words together which were a concoction of honouring my mother for who she was and giving thanks for all that she had done for me. That then took me on a spiral of remembering back to my early childhood where I would write daily ‘love notes’ and ‘poems’ to share my appreciation & gratitude while delighting in leaving them in secret locations for my family to uncover. There is such innocence in this way of being, filled with genuine awe and childlike playfulness. The act of sharing love because that’s the only thing that makes sense. Giving from the place for the sheer joy of giving, not from wanting something in return. The kind of giving not from the mind with it’s created stories, projections and personalisation, but from the heart. This thread of natural honouring and appreciation has really carved a pathway for my life sharing and work. I have watched this aspect in myself grow and deepen over the years and it comes down to.. WHAT is on the other side of negative thoughts, projections and judgements.. natural appreciation and gratitude. And HOW do you get there Enquiry! Going to the root cause of the suffering, the mind, which are the thoughts you are believing to be true that cause suffering We have to look at the perceptions that we are painting onto reality, to reveal the natural perfume of reverence right under the identification with though. A deep, deep appreciation for being here and life itself enters the conversation. NOW my expression of honouring come through holding ceremonies, 1:1 sessions, affirmations of sharing my love for humans in my life, nature creativity, poetry and heart song.
