14.01.2022 Normally messages around Easter from organisations who perform Road Crash Rescue are all about safe driving, however this year we still want to pass this message to drive safe but expect a much smaller number of people to be using our roads. Due to COVID-19 we want to pass on a few ideas that can be done during this prolonged period of social distancing and self-isolation to better prepare you for storms and other emergencies. Doing a bit now can help reduce or even stop damage in a storm, if you have the time in between binge watching Netflix you could clean gutters, trim back branches and secure loose items. Storms can happen anytime of year, its always important to keep your home prepared for them.

13.01.2022 A message from NSW State Emergency Service Commissioner Carlene York on the COVID-19 Pandemic.

06.01.2022 Potential for Flash Flooding due to Heavy Rains There is a possibility for flash flooding in and around the Wellington Area. There are reports of some areas receiving over 100mm of rain within less than 10mins. Please drive to the conditions and keep an eye out for water over roads. Always avoid drains and fast flowing water as these can become deadly traps. Stay safe around waterways and flooding as the force of water should never to be treated lightly.... If it’s a life threatening emergency call 000 immediately. For help with storms or flood damage call 132 500, due to the large storm events impacting the state the 132 500 line may have delays.

05.01.2022 Training tonight we focused on our land search and rescue skills half way up the mountain

04.01.2022 These few tips could save you a lot of issues later and there is plenty more rain forecast this week. The Wellington Unit has already attended a number of 'leaking roof' jobs this year, mainly in January, that were caused by blocked gutters. Grabbing the ladder out and clearing your downpipes and gutters could save you a lot of issues from water damage to your property and belongings.... If you experience damage from Storms or Flooding call the NSW SES on 132 500 for assistance. If it's a life threatening emergency call 000 immeditaely.
