25.01.2022 ***** FAKE NEWS!!!!!***** Good morning everyone :) On Wednesday evening on 9News was a report on charities who offer groceries for $2 fill a bag ... it featured Set Free Care 21 Rawlins Street in their report. Unfortunaltely it is NOT a service we provide. We would appreciate if you could share this with everyone. I have written to Channel 9 and offered them to come and do a report on what we acually do here at the Set Free Care Community Hub ... ;) :)

18.01.2022 Good morning This is an UPDATE on our charity Set Free Care in Southport on the Gold Coast Australia With all the craziness of COVID-19 and the restrict...ions many charities faced, we were very blessed to be an essential service to the homeless and the needy here on the Gold Coast. We closed our weekly Tuesday and Thursday meal programs as they are sit down meals and we get between 70-90 people come for a meal. However, we have take away meals available upon request. We definitely have seen an increase of need for food in our community. Our shOP (op shop) stayed open over the last months so people could access Emergency food assistance as well as purchasing $15 Pantry packs. We have been able to assist many in our community who have lost their job, Kiwis who arent eligible for Centrelink payments and International students who were stranded here in . In all the chaos and the constant demands we are blessed to be a blessing. We are about to start our major renovations of our bathrooms (showers and toilets) so once thats all done we will be opening as a drop in centre 5 days a week. People can come have showers and a coffee and a chat. Other agencies and services will be able to access their clients here for catch ups etc. We are also looking forward to opening our meal programs soon too, once we can safely accommodate everyone. Thank you all for your patience and ALL our volunteers who have been faithful to us during this time. Looking forward to the future and how Set Free Care can bring hope and freedom to many. See more

15.01.2022 COVID-19 Restrictions for GOLD COAST and what this means for us opening on Tuesday 1 September ... We have a COVID-19 Safe Plan in place according to Government regulations. We are abiding by the square meter rule which means the maximum number of people at our meal programs is 75. You will have to sign in at the door and practice social distancing. Our team will make sure that everyone will be kept safe when coming for a meal or a shower at our facility. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again after such a long time. Enjoy your weekend
