19.01.2022 Settlers Forest Lake Crochet Group is Tight Knit Local Forest Lake Brisbane resident Sue Gibbons has been delighted by the response and interest in the formation of a crochet group. The group will join the current craft group that meets at Settlers Retirement Village in Forest Lake, High Street. Those who are interested in the crochet group will be pleased to know it will be available on a weekly basis from 10am.... Settlers Retirement Village will provide complimentary refreshments and have also made the generous offer to supply the wool and hooks as well as any other items that the group may need to make blankets for those in need during the winter months. Meeting in the community room from 10am onwards, all who are keen to learn some new crochet skills are encouraged to come along and enjoy, not only brushing up on or learning new crochet techniques, but making new friendships in our community. For more information and details, please contact Sue on 3279 9561 or Settlers Forest Lake on 3807 3930.

09.01.2022 Recently Settlers Noyea Riverside held its Spring Garden Open day and car boot sale. The event received the best attendance of any prior open day held at the village. Settlers Noyea Riverside Sales Manager Giselle Spice gave personalised tours around the village and showed a number of guests through the display units. Giselle said: "The level and quality of enquiries generated from the day was very pleasing. There were even new residents, whose home are settling in coming wee...ks who visited as they wanted to be part of the excitement." Settlers Noyea Riverside residents sold bric-a-brac items and baking and craft items in stalls set up in the village carpark. Settlers Noyea Riverside Village Manager Debbie Searle said: "Residents were very happy with their sales and being able to de-clutter their homes from items they no longer needed." Whilst guests were busy touring the village, inspecting the display units and having a look through the car-boot-sale, Gisells Fiance Craig Sullivan kindly leant his services to cooking a sausage sizzle. Giselle's Dad Ricky Spice also brought his friend along who together entertained guests with their minstrel-style music. Debbie said: "The kids had a ball too as residents enjoyed giving away toys to the little ones when Mum wouldn’t buy them one! Overall it was a wonderful day with great results for all involved."
