24.01.2022 Did you know that the P&C also run individual year level FB groups to help keep parents and families up to date about specific information for that year level from our school. In 2021 we will be welcoming our new kindy students - if you have a student attending kindy next year here is the link to that page. Events for our upcoming parent orientation is already posted on this group so you can mark it in your diary. Welcome to the Settlers Community!!

24.01.2022 Congratulations to Charlie who was our lucky winner of the Scooter and Helmet package donated by Reece Whitby MLA. Charlie along with all our other super fundraising champions went into a draw as part of the colour run fundraising incentive and was lucky enough to have his number picked by random org. Well done Charlie and thank you for supporting our Colour Run we hope you enjoy your new wheels!!!

23.01.2022 Colour Run Tomorrow - Friday 4th Dec. - Students can attend school in the clothes they plan to wear for colour run as long as they are still presentable - no rips or offensive material. - Students can wear uniforms to school and change prior to the colour run. - No students will be permitted to participate in the colour run in their school uniforms.... We will be using water so please take this into consideration for our little ladies and perhaps have a layer underneath incase shirts become see through. Bring a towel as they will get wet. Older shoes/clothes are also the best as the colour does tend to be difficult to remove from material. There will be a dedicated zone for parents to watch and practise social distancing and there will be another zone where you are likely to also get blasted with colour so enter at your own risk!! Thank you to all those that participated in fundraising - you are now in the draw to win the scooter donated by Reece Whitby MLA. Running commences at 2pm - have fun and enjoy yourselves!!!

16.01.2022 TERM 4 NEW SCHOOL BELL TIMES We are pleased to announce to the community that we have reflected on feedback from the school and wider community, including Reece Whitby in regards to traffic congestion and lack of safety around the school, particularly at the end of the day and have made some minor changes to our bell times. The purpose of this change is to provide a larger gap between our finish time and Tranby's so that the majority of our traffic can be gone in the afternoo...n before their pickup traffic is arriving. This will enhance safety for our Settlers community as they leave the school by car, bike, scooter or walking. To assist with the minor adjustment, 10 minutes have been moved to the start of the school day for roll marking and housekeeping purposes (handing in notes etc). Specialist classes will still begin at 8:50. For families who may need time to rearrange their current commitments for a 3pm finish, students will be able to move to the Kiss and Drive area at the front of the school to wait, as the bollards will not be lowered until 3pm.

Click on the link then select your time and role!! Thank You!!

07.01.2022 Thanks to your amazing support over Terms 2/3 with our Cookie Dough Fundraiser and Fathers Day raffle the P&C have been able to support the school with a donation of $5000 towards the schools new Vegetable Garden. Mrs Lee, with the students assistance, has put together a very exciting plan to build a new vege garden which will provide a new range of education around water wise, composting and harvesting of the crops for students of every year. The garden will also incorporat...e joint activities with some of our local community groups with Baldivis Lions and the Men’s Shed to help design and build some of the structures. We are so very excited to help the school create this space and look forward to seeing this project come to life!!

07.01.2022 Our safe roads cohort of the P&C have been discussing how best we can manage our drop off and pick up zone. Working with the school we now have a dedicated lane for this purpose. When driving into the schools entrance please kept to the left lane for drop off and pick ups. ... NO PARKING is permitted in this area. Students should not be exiting cars from the drive lane on the right. If we all keep to the left side and move forward with the flow this should help ease the congestion that currently occurs by parents trying to use both lanes for the kiss and drive purpose.

07.01.2022 Don’t forget Colour Run Fundraising money is due today. Please drop envelopes to the office before 9am.

07.01.2022 Throughout Week 9 Settlers Primary School will be participating in a Week of Wellness. 03.01.2022 Don’t forget to thank our wonderful Principal and Deputy Principals if you see them at after school pick up today!!

02.01.2022 Today we enjoyed our Annual Colour Run. Students were so well behaved and from all reports had so much fun!! Mr Brown was seen in action along with various teachers aiming colour bursts of fun at all the runners!! Events like today involve a great deal of behind the scenes planning and managing so we would like to thank Mrs Leo for pulling this day together and for the many parents who came along today and helped - without you all we wouldn’t be in a position to have created today’s memories. Feel free to share your photos from today, however please be mindful of students in the backgrounds and either crop out or use some colourful fun to keep privacy for those who may not wish to have their images shared.

01.01.2022 You may not be aware that the P&C also run individual year groups FB accounts. These are an additional way of communicating to parents and caregivers specific information about that year level but also to assist parents getting to know one another as our children form friendships etc It is important to remember that these pages, whilst endorsed by the school, do not replace direct communication with the school. The school is always the first point of contact for any informat...ion you may require about your child and if you have any kind of grievance. If you haven't yet joined your child's year group please send us a PM so we can send you the link. *Please note that at the end of the term next week these groups will be changed to reflect the 2021 grade levels. You will not be required to rejoin as it will just be a group name change.
