22.01.2022 Hi to all, The N.S.W school holidays are fast approaching, if you are thinking about having some time away with family, friends or that special person. Then Sevasti's Hideaway is the place to stay. We are a small functioning farm with lots of room for children to run and play games. We also run garden tours for guests at no charge. It is still hot enough to enjoy our salt water pool while taking in the country views. All facilities are close by such as Vineyards, Lake Macquarie..., National Parks with magnificent walking trails.and a multitude of shopping centres. There is always something happening locally or if you just want to stay on the farm and do absolutely nothing that is fine. Many people are mesmerised by the different varieties of bird life we have. While others get to see their first starry night. If you are considering some time away in the holidays feel free to make contact. Currently we have some vacancies, however I expect they will fill fast this week. To view our property feel free to visit our website. www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/10524505 Business name is Sevasti's Hideaway See more

20.01.2022 Hi to all, I had to come inside for some breakfast. As usual I have been up early and working outside. I love being out doors early morning it doesn't matter if you are working or just going for a walk, I love it. For all the city people reading this article I did not see one drop bear this morning. I strongly suspect that the wedged tailed wombats have frightened them away for the moment, no doubt they will return. Ok whats been happening here at Sevasti's Hideaway I hear yo...Continue reading

16.01.2022 Hi to all, The cold weather is starting to creep into our lives yet again. It won't be long before we light the slow combustion heater for another season. We have huge amounts of citrus coming on, but we are desperate for good rain. We always seem to miss the rain the last few years or so. I need the rain to bring the quality of the fruit up to perfection as well as replenish the creek and the rest of the property. On a different subject, there are many different ways of doin...g business as you all know. Sometimes in the country things are done a bit different though. Our mobile coverage here is terrible, and that's on a good day. I have been advised it will be fixed within my life time. I told the Telstra person that I was really old so I would appreciate it if they actually fixed something while I was still upright. An example of me talking on the mobile phone this morning while trying to do business. Simply put I have to stand on the back veranda to get reception. I am talking away with the person all is going well when all of a sudden my chooks decide they want to let the world know they laid some eggs. I kept talking in a professional manner until I started to laugh, the chooks would not stop calling out. The person on the other end of the phone started to crack up as well. What can I say we did the deal and both had a good laugh. I have decided to put off doing weddings on our property for maybe 12 months. Currently I have to many other projects happening and I just don't have the time or energy to do weddings at the moment. The B&B is keeping me busy enough plus we want to catch up more so with our children and grandchildren.Well that's about all the news for now. If you need some time away to relax in a great environment then come to Sevasti's Hideaway you won't be disappointed. www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/10524505 See more

13.01.2022 Hi to all, This year has been interesting as well as very busy with people coming from all parts of the globe and Australia to stay. Word of mouth is a wonderful thing as well. We have had people book direct from India, France, Singapore because others have stayed here in the past and recommended our property as a place to visit. The hard work is starting to pay off now, but you still have to be consistent and keep moving forward with business plans while providing quality se...rvice at all times. The recent rain has been well received, however we need lots more rain to bring the property back to normal. At this stage all our citrus are full of fruit as well as the avocado trees. All 42 vegetable gardens are in full production. I have started to plant out more fruit trees, currently I have 35 trees that need to be planted. I have lost count how many trees we have planted out over the years, I can assure you it's a lot. Currently I have postponed hosting weddings on the property for twelve months or so. I have many other projects happening at the moment and I need to finish them first before I think about weddings. I have had several inquiries about holding weddings here but for now I need to focus on other projects. I am constantly amazed at what the Hunter valley has to offer the tourist there is always something to see or do all year. The school holidays are not that far away if you are considering some time away with family and friends please feel free to make contact. See more

11.01.2022 Hi to all, Sometimes in any business things don't go according to plan, yesterday was a good example.I had to go out in the afternoon for several hours when I returned I found that white cockatoos had absolutely devastated a huge part of our citrus orchard. In monetary terms there is hundreds of dollars worth of fruit destroyed. I have been waiting for assistance to cover the area with netting as the job is just to big to do it myself. Back in February I lost a full crop of p...Continue reading

08.01.2022 Hi to all, Spring is here and the property is coming to life again. All the deciduous trees are starting to bud up, it's only a matter of time and they will be in flower and producing fruit or nuts. I noticed a couple of days ago that one of our macadamia trees has flowers coming on. If all goes well it will be the third crop of nuts it has produced in 12 months. Trees should not do that, it's not normal. I have put it down to global warming, call it what you want but the wea...Continue reading
