25.01.2022 Goodness, she was awfully young.

23.01.2022 Sounds simple enough. Which of these lifestyle practices do you currently do?

23.01.2022 Lymphoedema is all too common for those who need lymph nodes removed to prevent cancer spreading. A good physio can help you manage it. Yoga is also proven to decrease symptoms and improve range of motion.

23.01.2022 What a good idea! An app that turns empathy into action.

21.01.2022 Have you experienced people in your life expecting you to move on, even when the effects of your cancer experience linger?

20.01.2022 Its prostate cancer awareness month. Exercise and yoga are good medicine.

19.01.2022 Yes! Is anyone else still feeling super tired even long after treatment ends? Cancer related fatigue is a serious issue that can be lasting. Yoga and exercise are often recommended but can feel like too much when activities of daily living are exhausting. #yoga #yogaforcancer #cancerrelatedfatigue #ohsotired https://www.curetoday.com//postcancer-fatigue-the-invisibl

18.01.2022 Remember that its never your fault, you can only control your actions, not the outcome. Ignore the well meaning advice, and especially the sales pitches. We can just try to savour our lives, whether that means running and green smoothies, or coffee and cake with friends, or a bit of both.

18.01.2022 What a cool idea.

15.01.2022 The reality of cancer really hits home for health professionals when it becomes personal. They are (mostly) wonderful, generous, dedicated, and empathic, and we'd never wish this on anyone, but they only really know what we go through when it happens to them. This is a lovely piece from an oncology nurse who became a patient. https://mypositiveoutlooks.com/dear-every-cancer-patient-/

15.01.2022 Truth. Every day is a cancer awareness day for survivors.

15.01.2022 Sound familiar? Cancer can alter so many aspects of our lives. Yoga and meditation are part of many peoples healing journey, and can provide insight for a new relationship with our changed bodies.

14.01.2022 Thanks @scarboroughyogacentre for making life better for people with cancer.

13.01.2022 Lymphoedema is an unfortunately common late effect of treatment, so its hopeful to read about advances in medical management. Theres also some useful self care strategies you can use, including regular gentle yoga. Be sure to let your instructor know about your health history and presence or risk of lymphoedema.

12.01.2022 Highly recommend the Life Now programs. To find out whats near you call 131120

12.01.2022 Theres a lot of us who identify as survivors, thats why we need long term psychosocial and support services such as yoga.

12.01.2022 Life after cancer is no picnic, thats why we hope to provide long term support in the form of free and subsidised yoga for survivors. I know not everyone likes that term, in our definition youre a survivor from the moment youre diagnosed or suspect cancer.

11.01.2022 Here's a guided practice you can do anywhere, including in bed. https://youtu.be/DGlU5a2hf7k #yoga #yogatherapy #yogaforcancer #yogaforsurvivors

11.01.2022 A powerful story. Sharing our stories can help others feel less alone, however there are lots of people who prefer to keep a lower profile. Are you public about your health history and experiences?

10.01.2022 We hear about this quietly between survivors, but it seldom gets mainstream coverage. Sometimes it can feel as if we should be happy were still alive, yet the long term effects can lower the quality of life terribly. Its good to know were not alone.

09.01.2022 Powerful video and message from Connie Johnson.

08.01.2022 Mel is living well with metastatic breast cancer, and yoga has been one key to her well-being. Thanks to the services of the amazing @cancercouncilwa, Lookgoodfeelbetter and Breast Cancer Care WA and Mels friends and family, her challenging path continues to be shared and celebrated. Shes generously opened her closed group that shes used to keep in touch (a good energy conservation tip) so we can all witness her courage and remarkable good humour. Thanks Mel.

08.01.2022 Sucking on ice seems to really help prevent mucositis for some people. Did you try it?

07.01.2022 When you need a compression garment, why not make it look funky?

06.01.2022 When treatment ends, sometimes our friends and families expect cancer to be over. Did you experience post treatment depression? Some helpful strategies re described here. #cancerwellness #survivorship #mentalhealth #resilience https://www.ihadcancer.com//i-felt-pressure-to-celebrate-b
