25.01.2022 So,whos got a long snatch strap?

25.01.2022 A MESSAGE TO PEOPLE LIVING IN REMOTE COMMUNITIES In response to the coronavirus, all non-essential travel to remote communities has been ordered to stop. Trav...el to a remote community must be for an essential service or for the supply or maintenance of essential goods and services. This decision will be enforced in partnership with Aboriginal land councils under the Aboriginal Land Act. We are not leaving you alone, everything you need to be healthy and safe you will have. The people that you need to be there, will be there. But the health advice to us is also clear you are safest in your home communities. To protect you, we are keeping non-essential people away from you. If you don’t need to travel out of your community then don’t. Just like the rest of us, you are safer in your home communities. I’ve also directed senior officials to consider further protocols for remote community access. We are leading the nation in this work and we are providing the model for other states on how to keep vulnerable people safe. Finally, I’ve directed that a task force be set up to advise on these issues, which will include the Aboriginal medical services, the Aboriginal peak organisations and Aboriginal land councils. The more we work together, the better prepared we will be and the safer we will all be.
