21.01.2022 SAFETY NOTE TO ALL QUILTERS, CRAFTERS, SEWERS, AND FRIENDS..... I started smelling a burning plastic smell in the house earlier this morning. I looked everywher...e inside and outside the house several times. Well, it is quilting time, my chores are done and I go back into the quilt room and the smell is so much stronger now. I went to open the window and I noticed that the plastic on my OttLite was smoking....??? The magnifying glass was apparently perfectly positioned and the sun was streaming through the window onto the plastic. I am building a thick cover for the magnifying glass and keeping it bent down away from the window. Good thing I was home!!!!!! See more
