24.01.2022 Love seeing customers smiles when projects start coming together. Absolutely wrapped with how this ones coming up. Brendan has been on point with this job, working with Harry’s design brief, his attention to detail had been spot on with everything lining up beautifully. Can’t wait to see it all finished once we are able to source some replacement front seat frames. (previous owner of the beetle had modified them beyond feasible repair for what we need)

23.01.2022 Brendan finished off another cool little touch for Harry’s custom beetle with this parcel shelf trimmed to match the seats, doors and roof lining.

22.01.2022 Michaels sweet Datsun that we previously trimmed the seats and door trims for, has now had a full body freshen up with rust removal and paint by Vito and the team at Polo Bodyworks. So today, Brendan and I went out and fitted a new roof lining to finish off the interior.

21.01.2022 G’day everyone, we hope you’re all keeping safe and well. While under stage 4 restrictions in Victoria, Here at Sew Fine HQ we’re doing our best to keep out of mischief (to some degree anyway) In keeping with the intent Of the stay at home directives, we have closed the gates to any walk in customers, We are currently limiting any new work to essential and critical repairs by appointment only( strictly roadworthy and safety issues). However with the doors closed, in betw...een these jobs, we’ve been cleaning up, sorting out stock & storage, as well as working through a couple of jobs we already had on the go that we had everything in stock for. Which brings me to this job... It really puts a smile on my face to see how well Brendan’s progressing with learning our trade. From the outset, I gave him the basic design brief from the customer, took a step back and let him run with it, and I’m glad I did. Well done mate. I’m absolutely wrapped with the way it’s come out, as I’m sure the customer will be when we’re finally able to fit them off in the car (after stage 4 restrictions finish of course) Harry, thanks again for entrusting us with another of your projects, and we can’t wait for you to be able to hit the roads with Johnny in it.

19.01.2022 Victoria acknowledges the important role of motor vehicle repairers by announcing that they will remain open during Lockdown Stage 4. Safe workshop practices su...ch as contactless service, sanitising vehicles, protecting workers and customers will remain in place as we play our part in doing the right thing over the next 6 weeks. We will keep Victorians on the road for essential care. We will provide further information as it becomes available. See more

17.01.2022 Its not all quilted diamonds and show cars here, we actually do general repair work as well

17.01.2022 We sure are lucky to work of some spectacular cars. Over the last few days, Brendan and I have been out of the workshop( still being responsible, physically distancing, sanitising hands etc.), keeping some pretty cool jobs on the go. Harry’s wild 63 bug is in for a full custom treatment, starting with a Diamond quilted vinyl roof lining, we’re continuing that theme with the seats and doors for that classic blacked out rodded look. ... At the other end of the spectrum, some cars just have to be restored to stock, and the 1968, Shelby GT500 KR, is one of those cars( and one of my all time favourite cars ever) This one is undergoing a complete restoration to bring it back to its former glory. Another trimmer had fitted a new roof lining a while back, unfortunately while in between stages of the build, the glue had let go, and the new lining dropped. So we went out today, removed the old trim, and fitted a new lining in preparation or the windows to be fitted over the next week.

14.01.2022 That amusing but gratifying moment when the apprentice is nervous about cutting into his $500 p/mtr genuine Recaro Monza material.

12.01.2022 MOTOREX RESCHEDULED TO FEB 6/7 2021 Given the lockdown in Victoria, we’ve made the call to reschedule the 20th edition of MotorEx to February 6 and 7, 2021. We’...re determined to keep MotorEx in Melbourne, and moving into the New Year gives us the best chance to do that. February 2021 is now officially the most massive motor month in Melbourne history! Meguiar’s MotorEx kicks it off and the awesome Showcars Melbourne 10th anniversary is on February 21 at Moonee Valley. No need to choose! GO TO BOTH SHOWS and get a year’s worth of Melbourne car shows in one month. We're already working with Showcars Melbourne to ensure the community can get to both. Entrant tickets are closed for now, and existing entries will automatically transfer to the new date. Please email us if the dates don’t work for you. New entrant and spectator tickets will go on sale later this year. Don’t book flights or accommodation hold your horsepower till things get better in Melbourne. The first thing we want is to see our Victorian mates out of lockdown and their lives back to something more like normal. In the meantime, we’re going to keep sharing cool cars from MotorEx especially from Victoria. When you comment, show an awesome pic of your cool ride and put a smile on everyone’s dial.

10.01.2022 Hey everyone, with all the craziness going on in the world I hope everyone staying safe and well. With the current ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ve had to make many changes to to operation of the business. We are currently not accepting any walk in customers, appointments only, restricted access to the workshop, the use of masks, gloves and sanitiser, as well as more thorough cleaning/sanitising of customers cars . With all this going on, we’ve been quiet on the Facebook... front but Brendan and I have been keeping busy while also keeping safe and following all recommendations and protocols. Back to an update with some of the jobs we’ve been plodding away on, It’s genuinely satisfying helping repeat customers with new projects. We trimmed Dales heavily modded White HR Premier a few years back in Bridge of Weir Pillar Box leather for seats, doortrims, parcel shelf, boot trims and kick panels, Alcantara for the roof lining, and custom tailored German velour pile carpet for floors and boot. Today we went out to finish fitting the roof lining for his (I.D. Tag) restored original car (Rear pillar badges hadn’t been fitted when we originally had the car in) that we also trimmed last year, this one in Samoan Tan Vinyl. While we were there, we also discussed moving onto his next project which is already well underway, with some pretty impressive chassis, exhaust, and engine transplant done, as well as the panel work now in progress, we’re discussing which direction to go with for the interior. But If these two are anything to go by, this next one is going to be phenomenal..

10.01.2022 Hey there ladies and gents, we hope you’re all doing well and staying safe with these uncertain times. Just thought I’d check I with everyone, and let you all know that while under physical distancing restrictions, we’ve been limiting public interactions, with quotes by appointment or email/messenger only, and bookings kept to a minimum. We’ve also been ensuring further than usual cleaning and sanitising of any customers cars that we have been working on. Brendan and I are still working away, getting through some larger projects here, as well as some day to day work.

08.01.2022 G'day everyone, Well isn't 2020 just being a pain in the ass I hope everyone is staying safe and well in these difficult times we are currently facing, Stay strong, stick together, share the love, ( Whilst still staying responsibly socially distanced, lol) it will pass. As Everyone is well aware, Covid-19 is challenging everyone with changes to how we go about our lives and business. ... While we are still figuring out what the new stage 4 directives mean for our business, and if we are permitted to stay open (so many grey areas) We have decided that in keeping with the intent of the stay at home directive, we will be reducing hours, postponing some jobs, cleaning up and preparing the workshop for when we move back to a more regular timetable, and limiting any new bookings to roadworthy/safety issues only and STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT for the remainder of Victorias stage 4 restrictions. We understand that this may be an inconvenience to some, but we believe this to be in keeping with the general publics best interests. In the meantime, we can still be contacted here via Messenger, so please, if there's any questions or you’re after a quote, drop us a line, and we'lll get back to you as soon as we can.
