25.01.2022 Wore this today to go pick up some things from Office Works. I don’t get to leave the house much anymore to see actual people, so I felt like this was an occasion to dress up. Fabric from @potter_and_co_australia

24.01.2022 This is what happens when you go to make a dress and don’t make a test garment first. The original dress I was attempting to make was too roomy in the middle, darts were way off, and I couldn’t fit my arms in the sleeves. I loved this @doopsdesigns fabric so so much that I was determined to save this make. I decided to cut off the skirt and use the leftovers to cut new sleeves and completely re-worked the front. It’s not what I was originally going for but I’m happy that I saved it. I most certainly let it sit in the naughty corner for a while until I could bring myself to look at it again. Moral of the story: don’t give up hope on makes that don’t work out and ALWAYS make the mock up first. @ Aura - City of Colour

22.01.2022 #smashinggoals Do you ever visualize your goals? I am someone that always likes setting big starry eyed goals for myself. The thing that makes the biggest difference is when I can see a clear picture in my head of what I hope to achieve. This picture right here has been a massive goal of mine!!! When I decided to change my covers, hire professional photographers, and invest heavily in the production of my patterns I had a vision of being on a pattern wall that looked just l...ike this! I wanted to create a pattern that looked stunning, represented me and my brand and could also sit side-by-side with the other big names of the indie pattern designers of this industry. This is the pattern wall in the gorgeous @wyldwoodcreative shop in Washington. I love her shop and following her on insta!! I want to send a huge shout out to all the independent retailers that stock my patterns! You guys are absolutely the backbone of this industry and are doing incredible during these crazy times! 22.01.2022 I’m pretty excited to be getting out of the house tomorrow to go back to @sewingadventures to teach an open sew day. This class is for those that have already taken a workshop from me before and want to work on fitting other patterns. So if you’re free tomorrow I believe there are just a couple spots left.

17.01.2022 One last pic of the #stellaskirt in denim paired with my super duper #opshop find @sheikeandco top. I actually ended up unpicking the bottom band to make this a raw edge skirt that frays which I am totally digging. Love when I find new ways to wear and style my #memade clothes.

16.01.2022 What an absolutely amazing launch day! I am overwhelmed with the response emails and well wishes! 13.01.2022 Happy Fall Y'all! Growing up in Texas, my most favorite time of year was always Fall! I loved going to the Homecoming parade, having a big bowl of chilli at my grandparents for Halloween, jumping in the massive leaf pile my dad just raked and getting ready to make some pecan pies for Thanksgiving. I also loved that cool snap that would hit the air one day and magically take summer away. These are all the things I imagined when I designed the Fall In Love Cardigan. The funny ...thing about this cardigan though is that in Australia (and the rest of the world) they call it Autumn, so when I told my friends what I named the cardigan they laughed and said, "So you mean the Autumn In Love Cardigan?" LOL!!!! No matter what you call it, I love this cardigan so much and wear (wore) it on all my travels. Since it is warming up here rather than cooling down, I also decided to treat myself to a Pumpkin Spice Whipped Ice Latte. I made a little video and recipe in the stories if y'all want to go have a look. It is so super yummy and may have me slightly buzzed on all that caffeine!

10.01.2022 I’m totally digging all the 1960’s vibes in my #stellaskirt hack! I was skeptical with how this would look, but it’s actually soooo cute! I am totally going to rock this skirt all spring long. I used @jocelynproustdesigns fabric in a heavier weight which was perfect for this style skirt. Make sure you’re in the club tomorrow to learn how I hacked my Stella and how easy it is to sew buttonholes and get them to line up!

09.01.2022 Thought I’d share a bit of what I’m working on today as a #smallbusinessowner. 1: Finished filming #seoulblosssomblouse tutorial for my next segment on @hochandatv 2: Working on new content for the #sewtogrowclub . 2: Ordered new #warpandweft fabric from @thenextstitch for new pattern. 3: Received some goodies from @sewinggem 4: Have 2 out of 4 patterns ready for the instruction phase. ... 5: Having MAJOR issues with current printer. They sent over $1000 worth of printing with skewed lines and faded print, but didn’t tell us their machine was having issues and let us discover it once it was unpacked at home after @matinainsta drove to Brisbane and back to pick it up. Now we are getting it all reprinted because I was absolutely NOT going to send out something like that to y’all!! 6: Emails!!!!! 7: Finished sewing a sample. And it’s only lunch time!!! Sometimes you have wins and sometimes things go crazy but it’s all part of the wild ride of being a business owner. Give me a holler if you too are a #cubicleescapee and own your own business!! 09.01.2022 Had to share... just finished a marathon of sewing THREE samples all in one day. I was nearly cross eyed by the time the day was done, but working with these lush fabrics and sewing my new design in all its glory made me so so happy! I am using the @rubystarsociety #warpandweftfabric by #alexiaabegg from @thenextstitch . Then a STUNNING #rayon from the gorgeous girls @figofabrics and then a strip linen from @sewinggem . I love the cool color pallet I’ve gone for with the next release of patterns and can’t wait to introduce them all to you in October!!!

09.01.2022 I will be releasing the #stellaskirt #sewalong tomorrow in the #sewtogrowclub !!! I love how much technique is in this super versatile skirt. In the videos I walk you through how to sew darts, topstitch with topstitch thread, insert an invisible zipper, full bum adjustment, sway back adjustment, and how to hack this skirt into a button up front! Holy Moly that’s insane! I love that I’m able to still share my love of teaching with the world even when Traveling outside of QLD ...isn’t a possibility right now. 06.01.2022 I made an #alstonreversiblejacket out of ponte knit from @darncheapfabrics and this is perfect for these fading winter days. I have just enough to keep me from feeling chilled, but not so much that I’m boiling hot the minute the sun comes up. So if you haven’t made an Alston yet, I can highly recommend trying the Option B technique with a ponte!! @ Sunshine Coast, Queensland

01.01.2022 From an early age I can distinctly remember having a true sense of who I was tied to the clothes I chose to wear. This is what led to me designing and making my own clothes... the vision of who I was inside wasn’t always reflected in the clothes I saw at the shop. I wanted to stand out, be different and pave my own path. Clothing doesn’t have to be for anyone else but you! Some days you want to wear workout clothes all day and other days you will make a new dress/skirt to go to the shop. Make and wear clothes that make you feel good and not things that you think others will like or approve of. Anyways, I just thought of all this from the other day when I got dressed up for Office Works. I wasn’t dressing up for the people working at Office Works, I was dressing for my self, my mental health and just for the pure joy of it.
