25.01.2022 Good evening all we will be at the Australia Day festival at Kings Park on Sunday run by Rotary Seymour, participating in a mock rescue and multi agency response (Operational requirements permitting) we will also be on 103.9 Seymour FM answering a few questions from Hank so if you can’t make it please tune in.

24.01.2022 A lot of people would have seen or heard via various news services that Fire Rescue Victoria have begun assuming control of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade and Country Fire Authority career staff in Victoria as of July 1. How does this affect Seymour and surrounding areas? It doesn’t. For us it’s business as usual, we wil continue to respond as we have for the last 126 years with professionalism and pride. So for us as the goal posts may have changed a little it stays the same.... We still have the support of all surrounding brigades, Hildene, Tallarook, Avenel, Whiteheads Creek, Trawool and Nagambie and they have our 100% support. https://youtu.be/erZvIAis-6Y

22.01.2022 Here’s a some food for thought as to how fast a grass/Bushfire can grow in mild controlled conditions. This is a real time video and goes for under a minute

21.01.2022 Victoria IMPORTANT FIREWORKS ADVICE If you, or anyone you know, are planning on using illegal fireworks this New Years Eve, you put yourself, your ...family and friends, your neighbours and the community at risk of serious injury and/or significant fire. 17.01.2022 Anzac Day 2020 is unlike any we have ever experienced but the rallying of the community to Stand at Dawn in your driveways is absolutely amazing and for this we thank you all. Although we will jot be marching as we traditionally do, the members of the Seymour fire brigade were proud to stand in our driveways this morning as a mark of respect to the fallen as well as the past and present serving members of the Australian and New Zealand Defence forces. Lest We Forget.... They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. #anzacday2020

16.01.2022 Sadly this fire season we are doing this on a regular basis, this fire season more than any other has highlighted more than any other the inherent dangers in what we do, a good day for a fire fighter is when everyone comes home safe. Vale Captain Ian McBeth, 44, first officer Paul Hudson, 42, and flight engineer Rick DeMorgan Jr., 43 Sadly this season that hasn’t been the case for too many of our brothers that we have lost. One fire fighter lost is way too many but 8 is devas...tating. Rest In Peace boy now in the arms of angels as said by Rick DeMorgan’s Sister Jen. To most the sky was the limit to these boys it was their home.

11.01.2022 It’s with deep regret that we post another loss in the firefighting brotherhood. Rest In Peace.

10.01.2022 Tonight, Wednesday 29th April at 5:40 pm, CFA brigades across Victoria will sound their sirens four times. Each siren sounding will represent and honour the brave Victoria Police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in Kew at 5:40 pm Wednesday 22nd April 2020. If you can hear our siren sound 4 times at 5:40pm tomorrow, there is no reason to be alarmed, and we do encourage all our community to take this time for a moment to reflect and remember the sacrifice made... by Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Senior Constable Kevin King, Constable Josh Prestney and Constable Glen Humphris. You can add your individual condolences to the Victoria Police In Memoriam page here https://bit.ly/2x5MqG4

09.01.2022 Good Evening all, With the restrictions regarding COVID 19 and being in stage three lockdown it makes it impossible for the brigade to undertake the usual Good Friday Appeal so as an alternative the Good Friday appeal is running a Virtual tin rattle. Please find all the relevant details below, click on the link and please donate as you normally would if you are able. We all know these are difficult times emotionally, physically and financially and as a result we are not expec...ting to break any records but it would be amazing if we can rally to raise some much needed funds for the Royal Children’s hospital. It’s really simple just click on the link below and it will take you to the virtual tin where you can make your donation. Give that they may Grow. #givethattheymaygrow Let's get shaking and give for the kids! https://fundraising.virtualtinshake.com/Seymour

09.01.2022 19 years ago tonight, we, the firefighting community had 343 members answer their final bell and there have been a further 182 pass away due to related illness, 23 NYPD and Port Authority with another 156 pass away due to related illness. This place is still killing first responders 19 years on . This shows the dangers fire fighters and first responders face for every call. Rest In Peace brothers.

03.01.2022 NEVER leave children or pets in a car.

02.01.2022 Three NSW Rural Fire Service fire fighters lost in quick succession, it’s a sad time for the fire fighting fraternity, three brave men that will never return home, and one that will sadly never meet his unborn child. Rest In Peace Geoffrey Keaton, 32 Andrew O’Dwyer, 36 Samuel McPaul, 28... Rest now my fallen brother Lay soft your suffering back Rest well and forever Your memory shall not lack Rest your tired hands Wipe clean your weary brow Rest with St. Florian Your spirit now endowed Rest here your breaking heart We know you gave your all Rest easy, you’ve done your part You’ve answered your last call Rest knowing that in god we sought Oh lord, watch over another who just fell Rest assured your troubled thought As we ring the final bell.

02.01.2022 ***update**** Sadly we are posting again about losing members of the emergency services family. Tonight we lost 4 of our brothers in blue, who, while doing their job, have been struck and killed by a semi trailer on the Eastern Freeway between Bulleen Rd and the Chandler Highway. ... Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and colleagues and all of the Services and members in attendance.
