23.01.2022 As it is the school holidays I thought I would try and post something for the kids to do for the Seymour Show. How about entering a decorated rock. There are lots of fun things to do. Just go online and check out last years Schedule. Have fun and stay safe

23.01.2022 Moving domestic chickens, eggs or other bird products into, out of or within Restricted or Controlled Areas requires a permit from Agriculture Victoria. You ne...ed a permit to buy, sell or move eggs, manure and chickens, whether on the side of the road, from your property, your local store, online (such as Gumtree or Facebook) or at markets. Movement restrictions are currently in place for Golden Plains Shire, near Bairnsdale and near Kerang. It is illegal to move these products without a permit. 23.01.2022 We love the crew at WildlifeXposure who have attended our show. They’re releasing a series of videos perfect for the kids. This is episode 8.

22.01.2022 Tune in to the Royal Melbourne Show's podcast series "Humans of Agriculture" tomorrow to hear an interview with our very own Jason Ronald. Not only is Jason the President of the Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society, he's also an RASV Life Councillor, elected to Council in 1991 and was appointed a Director in 2009. In the past, Jason has worked for the University of Melbourne, Ballarat University, Federal and State Governments and Qantas. In 2008, Jason was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to the community through a range of social welfare, cultural, political and agricultural organisations. https://royalshow.com.au/podcasts-in/humans-of-agriculture/

19.01.2022 Sad news for our community radio station. It appears hooded thieves entered their remote transmitter site at Granite Park stole valuable equipment and then destroyed the building. Police are investigating.

18.01.2022 We regret to inform everyone but unfortunately the 2020 Seymour Show has been cancelled. It’s the first cancellation in 162 years.

16.01.2022 We definitely miss all the fun of our annual show, which would have kicked off today. Take a look at last years activities and let's make 2021 totally amazing!

15.01.2022 Fruit on household trees and plants is a tempting treat for hungry wildlife. Netting is a popular way to protect fruit, but inappropriate types of netting can kill or injure animals such as birds, flying-foxes and possums. Netting with a large mesh size is more likely to entangle animals and their struggling causes deep cuts and strangulation, often leading to death. Agriculture Victoria are introducing new requirements for use of specific fruit netting. From 1 September 2021, a person must only use netting with a mesh size no greater than 5mm x 5mm at full stretch to protect household fruiting plants. Failure to comply with this regulation could result in a fine under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulations 2019. Further details: https://agriculture.vic.gov.au//protecting-fruit-trees-and

14.01.2022 Remember when you harvest your pumpkins to leave the stalk on. Store them in a cool, dry place and keep the best to enter in the Show.. Now is a wonderful opportunity to start your knitting to enter in the Craft Section. Check the schedule to see what you can knit. This years is not available as yet but have a look at last years as there are only a few changes. For the children, how about a painted gum leaf. More ideas to come.

12.01.2022 We’re all missing the activity & build up of excitement, to what would have been our annual show in a few short weeks. Take a listen to people sharing their stories about their favourite parts of agricultural shows. Great program ABC Melbourne Are you a fan of the woodchop, fairy floss, or alpacas?... Everyone's got their favourite, but unfortunately agricultural shows are among the many cancelled events of 2020. Richelle and Warwick celebrate your memories and why shows are important to you, with ABC South West Vic presenter and virtual country show co-host Jeremy Lee, the UK's Greatest Online AgShow chairman David Hill, executive officer of Victorian Agricultural Shows Rod Bowles, and secretary of Numurkah Show Sue Aldridge.
