The trick is to mix and match with annuals and perennial edible plants for year around produce in your vege patch. The below list is perennial edibles in my garden, Oregon, Mint, Sage, Lemon Balm, Lemon grass, Ginger ,Turmeric, Taro and fruit trees like Citrus, Guava, Banana, Pomegrante, Passion fruit and Mango. I usually mix it with easy growing annuals /biennials like Beans , Tomato, Onion, Potato, Lettuce, Chilli , Spinach, Parsley, Kale, Capsicum etc. If you are keen to know how to start a low maintenance foodie garden, email us your query to design.sfalandscape @gmail.com

Trees- Magnolia, Alexander Palm (Ptychosperma elegans) Ground cover- Giant Lilyturf (Ophiopogon jaburan), Star Jasmine ( Trachelospermum jasminoides) Native Plants Trees- Blueberry Ash (Eleocarpus reticulates), Native Frangipani (Hymenosporum flavum) Ground cover-Prostrate Grevillea (Grevillea juniperina) and Pigface (Carpobrotus glaucescens) Sculptured look Shrub-Yucca, Reed feather grass (Calamagrostis x acutiflora Karl forester).
