25.01.2022 NNDFC are super excited to welcome Ryan Banks-Smith back to the home of the Eagles!! Ryan played all of his under-age with NNJFC & also scored the U/16 Associa...tion B&F in 2015. Ryan then adventured to Glenorchy to take his football career to a higher level, of which he secured his position in the Glenorchy Senior side. He will be a huge asset to the Eagles and we are excited to see him in action. Most of all, we are looking forward to seeing him play aslong side his brother Jordan

24.01.2022 Well what a week it has been!! It all started on Saturday the 10th when our high flying full forward, Ethan Brock was crowned the William Leitch Medalist for t...he 2020 season. Brocky had a tremendous year which started with a big preseason and his efforts were evident as he improved with every game. Congratulations Brocky on your very well deserved award!! Our Colts had a fantastic season and made it through to the preliminary final. The club is extremely proud of our young group of boys who have improved leaps and bounds both on and off the field. They now have a solid team who are sure to be senior stars of the club in the future One of our colt superstars is Jonny Thorpe and he must be acknowledged for a brilliant season in which he ended it being the runner up in the Colts SFL Best & fairest count. Congratulations Jonny and well deserved Our senior women’s side lead by Runner & Bart after only 2 years in the competition made it to the Grand final. Making it to a Grand final is an achievement in its own right but to have a team with more than 10 girls who have never played football before, is an incredible achievement which must be acknowledged. We are so proud of our female players and they certainly are a force to be reckoned with Our Reserves boy had a sensational season and also made it through to the big dance. Lead by coach Brad Cordwell the squad of over 40 players improved week in week out. Making it through the Grand Final was an entire squad effort and each player should be incredibly proud to be apart of their success this season Our Senior boys- well there isn’t much more to say other than...PREMIERS 2020!!!! Our boys got the mighty job done on Saturday and they made the entire club as proud as could be. It was a full clubhouse on Saturday night with supporters, sponsors, players and life members there to celebrate with the boys and to congratulate them on their sensational season with a fairytale ending After the Grand Final match on Saturday, Rhys Ward was awarded the best on field medallion. Rhys has had a stellar season and this award recognises his gallant efforts as an integral team player The club is so immensely proud of each of our 4 teams. To have them all playing finals footy and to see the bond our players share, we know that we our club is heading in the right direction both on and off the field. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve in 2021! #hearthemroar

20.01.2022 The Lindisfarne Nu Jet Two Blues would like to announce our second recruit for 2021 season Zac Mastrocola, Zac will come on board as a playing senior assistant ...coach. Zac played in Geelong in the GFL for North Shore in 2014/15. Zac then returned and played for university in 2016 and in that year won a premiership and made the old scholars team of the year. He then had a year at Clarence in 2017 playing off half back then moved back to University and took on a role as assistant coach under Ben beams. Zac spent last year on the sidelines as he started a family, but now is ready to get stuck back in to football. Zac Brings a wealth of experience and knowledge after playing years of senior football. We can’t wait to see Zaccy running out in the Two Blues guernsey.

The young boys have played a consistent season considering the number of ins and outs week to week, with up to 10 of the boys playing Seniors at any one time! Well done to the Youth! The boys will play the winner of second elimination final between New Norfolk and Dodges Ferry for a spot in the grand final! The Port W : After a great back end of the season, the girls have managed to secure 6th spot in the finals after their last round bye caused them to drop from 4th on percentage! The girls have found some form and will be looking to continue the strong rivalry between the girls just up the road and cause an upset on their home deck in what is a do or die finals opportunity! The Cygnet Seniors : The Cygnet Seniors are pumped and ready to travel up the road to take on the Minor Premiers and long term rivals in the Huonville Lions after their two week break. The Port were able to upset Hobart in the last roster game of the year, earning their second spot and home final back against New Norfolk. The Port were able to gain some momentum by knocking off The Eagles in the wet and greasy conditions, whilst also keeping their second chance alive. Huonville came out strong and fought hard... all game but the girls continued to chip away and showed why they went the whole season undefeated and minor premiers. We have now made history in being the very first Claremont women’s team to win a Grand Final and to bring home the premiership cup! 10.01.2022 Exciting coaching announcement Whilst the cats out of the bag on this one already we would like to formally announce Ben Shaw as women’s football coach fo...r 2021. Now most already know Ben as the Mayor of our beautiful Derwent Valley and a keen football club supporter but what you probably don’t know is the enormous level of passion he truly has for the NNDFC and in particular the success of our women’s program. Ben has seen it all and done it all at the club from a player, administrator, president (of our last senior men’s flag in 2017) and now as Senior women’s coach for 2021. Ben has a strong desire to see this team have success and to provide a place where women can come and give AFL a go without fear and without any hesitation, everyone is welcome. Most importantly he is a very proud New Norfolk person who wants to see this season continue to build our club and really become a place where men and women young or not so young can come and aspire to follow their dreams and pursue football from underage right though to seniors in the Derwent Valley. There will be some more exciting announcements to come in the next few weeks but for now Congratulations Ben and we wish you and the team every success for the upcoming season. 08.01.2022 STATEMENT FROM THE HFC Our members were advised that Callam Upchurch has stepped down as the President of the HFC at our recent Annual General Meeting (AGM).... The HFC board would like to take the opportunity to thank him for his passion and efforts to bring the club forward. Initially Football Director Scott Quinn and Secretary Joshua Munting nominated to succeed Callam in the position of President. After both individuals have had the opportunity to consider their nominations, Scott has decided to continue in the role of footy director, he has a passion for the role and working with Senior Coach Alex Gilmour and the players and will continue to do a great job with the footy department. At the HFC Board Meeting Yesterday Joshua Munting has been appointed as the President of the Hobart Football Club, with current Junior Director Russell Cripps being appointed as the Vice President to support Josh in the transition to the role. Mr Munting had a few words to say at the club’s volunteer thank you day yesterday I am extremely humbled and proud to be standing here. I’m excited by the direction this club is heading in on-field, and look forward to growing our board to support the great work which Quinny, Rat and the Players are delivering on field. I may only be 27 years old, but I’m proud to have been involved with this footy club for the last 22 years. The HFC is family, I grew up watching my brother Nathan play in the underage premiership in 2000, whilst I was only 7 years old, I played Auskick here under Phil Geason (believe it or not), and my brother Jacob (best known as Magic) has played here for a number of years. I’ve had the opportunity to play Juniors with the club and stink it up in the Reserves in the prestigious number 83 guernsey, before my knee put a dampener on that (well it was an excuse anyway!). Dad has always been a passionate supporter of the club, in various roles and I was extremely proud of his recent award of life membership. I’ve been privileged to have my family be a part of this club, and feel that as a club it’s now time for us to progress back to where we deserve to be. My vision for this club is one which has a strong junior program from Auskick to Under Age, which has on field success. And includes both Womens and Master Rules sides. I believe our club values of Family, Passion, Success and Tradition describe the heart of what makes this club great. We have some challenges going forward to drive membership and revenue, to grow juniors and to make on-field success a sustainable part of our club. We also have some ambition for where we’d like our home ground the TCA’s facilities to get to, but thanks must go to Russell Young and John Barker for their work so far. We all love this footy club, and I look forward to working together to make us even stronger and better. The HFC have identified a number of skillsets which it desires on the board and will shortly be advertising roles which target suitably skilled individuals who can assist to take the club forward off-field. #AnswerTheCall

03.01.2022 And that’s a wrap for 2020 for the Lindisfarne Lady Blues!! Saturday did not bring the result we hoped for but it did bring a ripping game of football. A tough... fought contest where we had a chances to win, but couldn’t capitalise. But that is footy!! And we will be back bigger and better next year!! However Saturday night brought a fantastic win!! Our very own Georgie Bailey took out the best and fairest for the SFLW!! We love having Georgie at the Lady Blues, and she has put together a great season!! Big marks, big goals, big tackles there is a lot to love about what Georgie brings to the game and we are so grateful to have her at our club. Big Congratulations Georgie!!

03.01.2022 Huge news out of Anzac Park that the Lindisfarne Nu Jet Two Blues would like to announce that Josh Grant has signed on for 2021 season Josh joins us from the C...laremont football club where he played 70 senior games which included a premiership in 2015 and a senior best and fairest! Josh also captained Claremont. Josh brings a lot of experience to the team as he has also played 60 TSL games for Glenorchy which in 2018 he was included in the TSL team of the year at full back! We look forward to having josh on board and so is the coach michael Cassidy not having to line up on the big man!

02.01.2022 2020 PREMIERS! The girls have had a fairy tale year after beating Huonville on Friday night in the 2020 Grand Final. Huonville came out strong and fought hard... all game but the girls continued to chip away and showed why they went the whole season undefeated and minor premiers. We have now made history in being the very first Claremont women’s team to win a Grand Final and to bring home the premiership cup! We would like to thank everyone that came along to support and cheer us on throughout the year and look forward to doing it again next year. CARN THE MONT!
