Last night when mum picked me up and we couldn’t decide what we were going to have for dinner, it popped into my head how nice the prepared meals in the deli section of the little IGA looked so I decided I would get them for dinner. Anyway, as I was zapping it I was reading the packaging, with difficulty I might add, didn’t have my glasses on lol and saw that they were from JL King in Bendigo so then my brain really started ticking over even though I was feeling really, really tired. Lol Well, they were so delicious mum had the Prawns and Fettucine and I had the Chicken Tortellini and the sauce and pasta were just so tasty. I have just rung them up and they deliver 3 times a week to Castlemaine. What would matter is that I would need you all to be strict on when you order them if you wanted them for your next delivery. For Tuesdays, I would need to know by Friday midday so I receive them on the Monday and for the Friday delivery I would need to know by the Monday midday so I could get those ones on Wednesday since John leaves too early for that round. They have 20 days shelf life and will be fresh product. Price Range is $6.99 - $14.99 which is their Recommended Retail Prices. REMEMBER, YOU DON’T NEED TO PLACE A FULL ORDER ALL AT ONCE. So, here’s your reminder to get those orders for all the nice, fresh products from our local businesses. Since I am struggling for time today and no time to go googling going to revisit the song that always pops into my head on a lovely Sunday.. Sunday morning up with lark, I think I’ll take a walk in the park.. well, maybe not. LOTS AND LOTS OF NEW STUFF THIS WEEK All the meals from JL King have been added except for the bulk salad sizes. Unfortunately I had to break them up into more menu items than I wanted to. It kept spitting the dummy at me when I tried to add too many variations to a single menu item. For example, I had to break the salads into 2 menu items No Restrictions/Dairy Free and Vegetarian/Vegan so unfortunately to see the full range of salads you are going to have to look at both. That was a very big task getting them all into there as well as adding them to my own inventory database. Lol I know I has missed one product on one of them but will go through them shortly to see if there are any others I have missed. Was the stop/starting of when it would spit the dummy at me and would have to modify to get the lists working properly. Am about to head up to the Coolroom to see if there are any specials I can add. I know there is one of the longer life Herbed Dips for Chips running low on date if I haven’t left it too late to put on special. I also have some deli meats from Fabbris to add as well. Will be my next task after I have checked for any specials. Fresh from Fabbris so nicely dated. I got some Prosciutto from them as well if anyone interested in this. I think I have some flexibility for when I order and receive these products, so I might be able to compensate for when I run out of Don KR products and their delivery day being Wednesday to me. Anyway, is all a learning curve figuring out how best to manage these fresh products with no idea on what will be ordered from week to week. I am getting better at it but still is a challenge every week. lol The other thing I need to add today is some more antipasto choices including Red Pesto. I got some fetta filled olives from Leonardos since I don’t know when I will be able to get the little Blue Vein Stuffed ones from Gourmet Plus again and they were very popular. I also got some small tubs of marinated fettas from Leonardos. Will get them all on before the end of the day but if you want any of them, just let me know and I can add manually and rather than upset your order if you are prepaying online, you can just add them to the following week. I also have a couple of the order in products on the shelf at the moment as they had been ordered for the first time. They are Provolone Cheese, Treccia Cheese and 1 x Mascarpone. I still have a couple of Herb Formaggino cheeses left (salad or cooking cheese).

At this stage have only bought 1 set of these hampers in case it is a stupid idea and will also look for some nice cheaper ones as well. Have only added a couple of dollars on them as profit on the price I paid for them as a set, so they are almost as cheap as you would buy... them for on ebay. I have also added a couple of gift certificate options. I have made some options to select how you would like these gifts to be handled at our end including if you wanted to send a gift anonymously to someone you think could be struggling, you are able to. For voucher deliveries to an address, I would also include a full printed price lift to go with it. Anyway, if anyone checks it out with the options I have put in and wants to give me some suggestions, please do. Michel’s business has been heavily impacted by Covid with most of her customers being based in Melbourne. The Coffee Bean sold these delicious treats which I recognised when I went and checked out her website. I have forgotten to ask if there were other local businesses that sold them. I will go visit Michel and pick out some products to put online and I promise to include the Belgian chocolate ones but besides that she has sweet and savoury biscuits so you will have something to dip into the yummy Castlemaine Kitchen Dips if you need a change from vegetable dippers. lol. These are award winning biscuits and a true luxury. All the normal payment methods available for how you want to purchase. I have added some options so that if there is more than one sweep for a price amount, you can nominate to have your name in one sweep or spread across them. You can also nominate other names to be added to the sweep. I don’t know what other families did or do, but I know mum and dad used to get a ticket for us kids in Cup Sweeps. I am normally a number girl and would always grab position 5 on a Sweeps Sheet but am going to use app I found and will enter names into the sheet as received. It then shuffles against the field and gives me a pdf I can email to you all. Will leave my own selections, workmates and mum’s to enter last so we will fill gaps where needed. I have also added a $10.00 sweep option but it may be withdrawn if not enough want it, so I will put a limit of 24 tickets against that one unless there is many wanting it and if that one gets filled you will need to express your interest to me if that happens and will be play by ear to see if we can fill another one. Probably would be smart to not prepay the $10 one until we know we have enough to fill it. So, there is $1, $2, $5 and $10 tickets available.

So, here we go: Masterfoods Tomato Sauce 920ml $6.80... Will only have 3 for this week, that is all the supplier had left, so will be first in, best dressed for this week. The price is pretty disgusting, but I have it until I source an alternative retail size. Have sourced it in a rush knowing I could get them tomorrow. With all the pies we have been selling just thought it could be a product that you may run out of and if you were wanting to avoid having to buy it separately elsewhere, well, I need to find a more price friendly one for us. On my googling, major supermarkets sell it around the $4.69 mark, which is probably due to their buying power but I do promise to find an alternative. We have had a wonderful supplier here for some of our catering size products for many years and would like to give them some support by selling some of their olive/antipasto products during these tough times when they would be feeling the pinch of the lockdown like everyone else catering to cafes, etc. Have only chosen a small handful to start off with same as I have done with the Gourmet Plus Antipastos. Tried to complement the Gourmet Plus ones I have on shelf by not buying all the same as I already have. Also, not sure with current Covid restrictions when the supplier is going to be able to reorder from Gourmet Plus for me to get other products from their range which, from customer feedback, have proved to be a yummy product. They have a minimum order requirement so he struggled to do the last order with them. 02.01.2022 https://fordsdairydelivery.com.au/ MOST OF THE MEALS FROM JL KING ADDED TO ONLINE SHOP Still need to add the large size meals which I have no idea if they are too big for families or too expensive as they have been designed around selling in portions from a bain marie but have listed them at the recommended retail prices they are sold per kg in the supermarkets etc. All the pasta bakes and lasagnas are amongst the bigger size, they don’t have them the in smaller portions.... I still need to add the Soups and Sides and make the lists for the dietary requirements but since I need to have my order in by midday tomorrow for the Tuesday deliveries, the Salads and Ready Meals are all up if you want to order or let me know to order any for you and will continue on tonight trying to get the rest added. Can just be added to your weekly order when you are ready to place it.

I will contact any regulars in the morning to see if they have forgotten or not. Even if you really do forget, do not panic and think you have missed out completely. Depending on what you want, I might be able to work something out, but no guarantees. Otherwise, with our products, which are quite considerable now, you have up to delivery departure time to let me know. I can get together an order if you have forgotten to get your order in. Friday delivery you have until Wednesday COB. The earlier cut off is due to John leaving on the out of town run early on Fridays, so I need to get the orders to the suppliers in earlier. You still have to COB on a Thursday to get the orders in for just for our products. PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM GETTING TOGETHER A COVID CARE GIFTING AREA. I have bought some nice cheap hamper baskets (when they arrive, delivery a bit slow) if you want to build a hamper for someone you are unable to visit or get out to shop for and I will happily put together a nice laminated message to go with it. If the delivery day you want falls outside our normal round delivery day, please contact me and if it ties in with our local business deliveries, I might be able to work something out depending on the location. I will also put together some gift vouchers in $5 and $10 lots which I can then combine as a single value to email or deliver (if you don’t have an email address). I will include a printed product list with the delivery ones. I will also make these so you can be anonymous if you want and are just wanting to send as assistance to someone in need. I will be able to keep track of these vouchers and if, after a certain amount of time which I will check with you, they aren’t used.
