18.01.2022 The Wodgina Lithium project, located approximately 100kms south of Port Hedland, is one of the largest known hard rock lithium deposits in the world and recently saw a substantial upgrade and expansion. To cater for the expansion the airstrip, located near the mine site, was upgraded with the capability to land commercial size aircraft. Owned and operated by a major mining company, our client engaged SGA to complete over 50,000m of runway grooving as well as the line marking package to the runway, apron and taxiway.

18.01.2022 #SafetyGroovingAustralia. The final cut of the shift With our custom built runway groover’s there is no need for post cleaning. The hi-tech vacuuming system leaves NO groove residue behind so no need for suction sweeper’s & water truck’s. This means we can maximise shift cutting time’s thus minimising the project duration by days. @SGA we pass this saving on to our clients #happyclient #inthegroove #pilbarasunrise

09.01.2022 Our grooving machines are custom built specifically for pavement grooving with optimum performance 1m wide cutting heads. Each machine is fitted with a state-of-the-art vacuum system to ensure the cleanest, most FOD free runway at the end of every shift which eliminates the need for mechanical brooms and extended post grooving clean-up. Our operation is supported by mobile water tankers, mobile vacuum slurry tank units and as much ancillary plant/ equipment (including lighting) as the project requires. This allows us to meet our customers needs and adapt to each project, day or night. All our machinery and equipment is maintained on a daily basis during contracts, ensuring onsite reliability and piece of mind for our customer. Our team pride themselves on their workmanship and finished product. #airports #grooving #asphalt #runway

07.01.2022 Did you know that grooving the runway provides channels for water to escape, helping eliminate standing water and restoring tire friction coefficients on wet pavement. The grooves are cut transversely to the direction of airplane landing and are usually continuous to dry pavement lines for the entire length of the runway. #safetyfirst #inthegroove #SGA
