21.01.2022 It’s great joy being a parent or carer - and also tough work, particularly during COVID! Join us online for a series of sessions to help you relax and treat yourself. On Friday 13 November we will consider the importance of self-care and create a mini art project that explores the idea of seeds we can plant to take better care of ourselves. The class is fun, easy and uses things you might already have at home (eg paper, textas, scissors, sticky tape, magazines) Take a break and join us for a relaxing art class. Friday 13 November at 2.30pm through Zoom. Call Kaitlyn on 9001 4381 for more info or to join.

17.01.2022 Thank you to those who joined us on Wednesday for the DIY session with our SGCH Handyperson Charly! Those who participated learned how to put together a bread and cheese board for picnics, beaches or parties with family. Stay tuned for more fun online DIY project classes in 2021!

07.01.2022 We have had more lovely responses from our Strive Scholarships students’ families about what it means to them to receive it. This message from the mum of one of the K-12 recipients shows just what an impact the scholarship can have on their lives. The $500 prize is absolutely amazing and by far it exceeded any of my expectations. However telling Layla that she has been awarded Strive Scholarship together with her siblings is second to none. Giving my children Strive Sch...olarship Certificate and reminding them that there are so many wonderful people in the SGCH Team who also believe in them and cheer them on on their journey to achieve their dreams is exceptional. Ava, SGCH tenant We’d love to hear from our other Strive Scholarship students about your plans for the school year, please send your stories to: [email protected] [*Stock photo of three smiling primary school students in school uniform leaving the house, used for reference only.] To learn more about the Strive Scholarships program, go to: sgch.com.au/strive

03.01.2022 We love hearing from our Strive Scholarships students and their families about how they will use the Strive Scholarship money or what it means to them to receive it. This message from the mum of one of the K-12 recipients shows just what an impact the scholarship can have on their lives. Kim* says: Thank you so much for choosing Brayden for the Strive Scholarship. I am beyond excited for him to have this opportunity to have his own space in the apartmen...t for his homework centre. There is no way in my future that I could have afforded a computer for our home. I have tried to explain to him the scholarship but, him being autistic, it’s going to take a while to understand. The desk is set up as his space so he knows he has his colouring-in space, but to have a computer there with the learning programs he needs is going to be a massive change and his ownership of his space is going to be so wonderful. I literally have tears of joy for him. We’d love to hear from our other Strive Scholarship students about your plans for the school year, please send your stories to: [email protected] [*Stock photo of mother watching a boy do homework on the bed, used for reference only.] To learn more about the Strive Scholarships program, go to: sgch.com.au/strive
