24.01.2022 Here's an update from the Masters League. Good Morning All , Fantastic to be back on the field as of today. Please enjoy your matches and remember its Footy for Fun. Only REGISTERED PLAYERS are to take the field. ... With respect to numbers, if teams are low the expectation is that players will be rotated from the other side to equalize. Both teams must field the same number of players. UNDER AGE PLAYERS :- Clubs are only allowed an underage player to make up team numbers. They cannot be used when over-aged players are available or just to make a team more competitive. No more than three underage players can be on the field at any one time in either of the 35s or 45s competitions. In order to take the field the player MUST already be 33/34 for the Over 35s or 43/44 in the Over 45s (there is no dispensation for a player turning 33 or 43 later in the year to take the field for a game). All underage players must be identified on the team sheet and communicated to the opposition delegate and the umpires. Should an underage player display unfair ability or aggression, the opposing delegate has the authority to restrict the player's time on the ground and/or position or can even exclude him from the game. Playing underage is a privilege and not a right, and the interests of overage players will always be a priority. Enjoy ! Burchie --- AFL Masters Queensland http://www.aflmastersqld.com.au the team

22.01.2022 Here is the AFLQ release in light of recent events. Stay vigilant people, these idiots have put us all in jeopardy . Good Afternoon All , You would all be aware of the latest positive Covid-19 cases in Brisbane. AFLQ released the statement below outlining their position and MAFQ will abide by any directions we receive. If your club or individuals have any concerns don't hesitate to take appropriate action. ... 'AFL Queensland has been in contact today with clubs who are in close proximity to the latest COVID-19 case announcements and those clubs who have an association with the school that has been recently affected. Although we have not received any formal advice from the Queensland Health at this point, clubs in that region have taken the proactive stance to cancel training this week. We will continue to monitor the situation and work with Queensland Health and clubs as required. Rest assured the health and wellbeing of our players is paramount and our priority is to ensure we keep all players, parents and officials up to date with all the latest health advice from the Queensland Government'. We are currently operating under the Stage 3 restrictions and the following protocols are of importance as we return to the playing fields. Contact Full contact is permitted on the Field of Play similar to pre-COVID contact activities. At all other times, participants, coaches, officials, trainers and spectators are to observe social distancing requirements and undertake sound hygiene practices (i.e. sanitations) as detailed in the relevant approved Industry COVID Safe Plan. Facility capacity. The total number of people to attend training, competition and events is to be based on the social distancing standard of one person per four-square metres. Group segmentation and buffer zones will be used to limit co-mingling. Risks will also be managed through mandatory record keeping, which could include the use of technology (e.g. movement tracking apps, ticket purchasing) Facility Access All elements of community sport, recreation and fitness facilities to be accessible in line with relevant health guidelines and directives. Including revenue generation activities (i.e. canteens) to resume and use of all facilities required for training and competition (change rooms). Clubs may choose for facilities to be full accessible including canteens and bars, change rooms, bathrooms, storage rooms however must put in place systems to manage: o venue entry and exits (and separate where possible) o seamless flow of participants and attendees through the venue o over-lap and congestion o physical distancing including line markings, bollards and indicators. Further updates will be provided as received. Stay safe and enjoy your footy . Burchie

17.01.2022 AFL Masters QLD Update... The AFL Masters QLD Committee met last night to discuss the COVID-19 Pandemic, and would like to advise our position as a matter of urgency. The safety and welfare of our Players, Official, Volunteers and their Families are our first priority. The Committee have therefore taken the precautionary step of postponing the start of the Season.... This decision will be reviewed when more advice is received from AFLQ ( there are meetings today), the State Government and Chief Medical Officer. The AFL yesterday afternoon announced their season would be reduced to 17 matches and a decision on Round 1 proceeding as scheduled is yet to be made. In the meantime we are seeking guidance from AFLQ in regards to Practice Matches and Training, and will keep Clubs advised. We appreciate this decision will not please everyone but in these uncertain times and as we have in part an age demographic that falls into the ‘at risk’ category we feel this is the best course of action. We will communicate any updates as soon as they become available. Regards Steve Burchill AFL Masters QLD President

10.01.2022 Fellas - Here is the latest update from Masters AFL QLD. The big thing, get on and get registered. The How to do this is in previous posts on this page. No excuses. Good Evening All ,... There would appear to be some activity of Social Media with reference to easing of restrictions for Community Sport and possible resumptions dates for football. Victorian Premier Dave Andrews has announced AFL Clubs can resume training in groups of 10 from this Wednesday. Other States and Territories have or may be doing the same. AFL Masters QLD position at this stage is to be guided by announcements made by The AFL and subsequently AFLQ. AFLQ have a meeting scheduled for Tuesdau night . No announcement has been made by either as yet although imminent. In the event that training maybe able to resume in some form or another with conditions, it is best we ready ourselves for a resumption by ensuring all players are registered. This will cover all Club Office Bearers in the event of any issues that may arise. All players intending to resume training with a club must be registered. That will include players transferring from one club to another. If we are allowed back on the track a period of training would need to be undertaken before we considered matches. That would apply to any level of football and more important to Masters players. Ground availability will be at a premium and the Committee will discuss once more dates for resumption become available a suitable schedule of matches for the 2020 season. Please contact your respective playing group and ensure your players are registered. Will be in touch when more information is available . Regards Steve Burchill President AFL Masters QLD

10.01.2022 This is from AFLQ - yesterday. Dear Club Presidents, With the recent announcement of the 3-stage roadmap by the State Government to lift restrictions in Queensland, understandably there is real enthusiasm by coaches and players to get back to training as soon as possible. From Saturday 16 May, Queensland moves to Stage 1 of easing restrictions, where family, friends and community can gather in groups of up to 10 people for outdoor, non-contact activity. Unfortunately in Stage... 1, Clubs cannot return to any form of sanctioned training, including groups up to 10. Understandably this will raise many questions. However, later this week we hope to provide you with detailed FAQs, as well as Return to Training protocols, support materials and potential competition guidelines to help you plan and prepare for a return to play. We look forward to providing a more comprehensive update then and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Kind regards Dean Warren Chief Executive Officer See more
