24.01.2022 Fatima was the last of our girls to farrow, last week, and the only one to really 'nest'. In fact, she cleared pretty much every bush from her entire yard... and then produced 11 little pigs in less than 2 hours. What a Gal :)

22.01.2022 Patsy can't even be bothered getting up to see the new huts we've built for our girls to farrow in...

19.01.2022 Shady Patches Farm has had a population explosion, with 5 new lambs and 36 new piglets coming into the world... Spring is in the air, and also in these tails..

16.01.2022 No new piggies at Shady Patches Farm this morning, but three gilts sleeping in their huts - which bodes well for farrowing, and.... just Polly under a bush. Can't win them all, I guess!

14.01.2022 We spent the day building huts of straw for our beautiful, but very pregnant, gilts. Stay tuned for pictures of our first Duroc piglets, due next week ;)

12.01.2022 We're having herb and red wine pork sausages.... an oldie but a goodie.

08.01.2022 A lovely surprise, this morning.... Agnes had a little Ewe, the first of Douglas' lambs to come into the world. She has super long legs, is very strong and feeding well.

01.01.2022 As Promised, here are our gorgeous new arrivals. These little guys are half Wessex and half duroc, and much to our surprise, came out in every shade possible. Spotted, striped, with and without saddles in tan and black, also some with ink spots - all of them are very cute, and are loving feeding, playing and growing among the trees and bushes.
