05.01.2022 SHAKTI AUSTRALIA'S VISIT Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting Dr Sabrin Farooqui and Ms Hira Chowdhury of Shakti Australia organisation at my electorate offi...ce in Werribee. Dr Sabrin and Hira provided me with an update relating to the important work that Shakti Australia provides for migrant communities in Australia. Shakti Australia provides culturally competent support services for women and families of Asian, African and Middle Eastern communities across Australia. Shakti’s services include providing advocacy, social outreach work, support for safe refuge/housing, interpretation and awareness raising on how domestic violence affects migrant communities. I commend both Dr Sabrin and Hira for their hard work and commitment. Fantastic work is being done by these two women of Bangladeshi background! #KaushaliyaMP
