23.01.2022 As a nurse in an aged care home, Davida was one of thousands of frontline health care workers who were sacked by the LNP last time Campbell Newman and Deb Frecklington were in power. The outcome was devastating. We can’t risk the LNP doing the same thing again particularly not in the middle of a pandemic.... In stark contrast, the Palaszczuk Labor Government has invested more in health and education than any government in Queensland’s history. Only Labor will continue to invest in jobs and new infrastructure to create jobs and keep Queenslanders safe. Was lovely to meet Davida today at pre-poll at Mount Morgan. 23.01.2022 I saw this today from our federal colleagues. The Morrison Government has done a grubby deal with One Nation to strip workers of protections against being sacked or having their hours reduced under the JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme.

I have really enjoyed getting to know so many new people and really appreciate the support you all have shown along the way. 11.01.2022 I’m running this election because I want to actually get stuff done for Mirani. The Palaszczuk Labor government is already in the process of delivering some great projects for this area and I’m thrilled to have secured some additional commitments as a candidate. As far as I’m concerned, this is just a starting point. If I’m fortunate enough to be elected, I’ll be banging on every door I can in Brisbane and anywhere else to secure funding for local infrastructure projects and ...jobs. Here’s a few of the projects underway or commited to so far: New Sarina Hospital New Performing Arts Centre for Sarina High $7.5m upgrade to Mackay Engineering College Walkerston Bypass Rookwood Weir Mackay Manufacturing Hub Tuckshop Upgrade for Marian State School Admin block upgrade for Mirani State School Playground Shade Project Bouldercombe State School Ammenities Upgrade Westwood State School We’re also making apprenticeships free for under 25s and committing more than $32m to country racing, which is great for areas like ours. #letsgetstuffdone

07.01.2022 Only recently I sat down with the team at Volunteer Marine Rescue in Mackay to see what we could do to support their great work keeping locals safe in our waterways. Ageing vessels was one of the main issues they raised. I committed to lobbying on their behalf for new equipment. Today I’m proud to announce that I’ve delivered.... Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has today confirmed $35.38 million for replacement vessels under a re-elected Palaszczuk Labor Government. This includes funding for Mackay VMR. Today’s announcement will see $17.38 million over four years allocated to replace ageing vessels delivering up to 27 new boats across the state. It also includes $18 million over four years to support the transition to an integrated, statewide marine rescue service. Only a Labor government will invest in essential services like this to keep us all safe. #Jobsnotcuts #Qldvotes
07.01.2022 Hi Guys, a bit of an update. 90% of the votes have been counted and we have won the primary or #1 votes. I personally want to thank everyone who voted and put their number 1 against my name. This is an awesome result considering we ran an 8 week campaign with very limited resources. It will be interesting to see how the preferences fall but considering almost everyone else on the card put labor last it will be a tall mountain to climb. I will post another update once preferences are released with more details of what’s next and how we continue to keep Mirani represented.
03.01.2022 Remember when One Nation hit Queenslanders up for cash to try to open the border to Victoria, and we all told them to get stuffed? I do. It’s disgraceful that the Member for Mirani supported this court challenge to take away our right to stay safe. If they’d won their court case, we would have had no choice but to let the COVID cases flow in from across the border. We could have had our own second wave and shutdown.... They should be ashamed of themselves, but I’m proud of the way Queenslanders stood strong behind Annastacia Palaszczuk and kept the virus out. We’ve got to stick with Annastacia this election.

01.01.2022 This is deadset ridiculous. We’ve been told all campaign that an LNP/One Nation government would build the Bradfield Scheme and deliver a four lane Bruce Highway. Turns out they aren’t planning on even getting started on either for another 10-15 years. They’ve allocated no money to either.... If their core promises were just straight up lies, they don’t deserve to be in government. Labor’s plans have been fully costed and will focus on job creation - I’m asking for your support this election so we can deliver on that.
