23.01.2022 With the recent announcement that Queensland's border 'bubble' zone will expand from 1am on Thursday, October 1 to include Byron, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Glen Innes council areas, the attached map may help. Queensland residents can travel anywhere within the border zone and return without quarantining (so long as they have a border pass) NSW border zone residents can travel anywhere within Queensland without quarantining (so long as they have a border pass).
23.01.2022 BREAKING: The Chief Health Officer has given the all-clear to ease some restrictions early thanks to the strong health response of Queenslanders. From 4pm today, Friday October 16: - Up to 40 people can dance at weddings with a COVID Safe Plan... - Dancing will be permitted at Year 12 school formals - Gatherings of 40 people will be allowed in homes and public places - Outings from aged care facilities can resume Together we have successfully suppressed our most recent outbreak with barely a handful of COVID cases across the state. Queenslanders have done a great job of fighting this virus and deserve to have restrictions lifted as soon as it’s safe to do so. Our strong health response means we can get on with Queensland’s economic recovery plan. It’s still incredibly important to follow the health advice if you’re unwell, stay home and get tested. #covid19

21.01.2022 I love my footy! That's why I fought to secure $387,000 towards new changerooms at Mathieson Park, Petrie (home of the mighty Pine Rivers Bears). Like and share if you're a Bears supporter too :-)
20.01.2022 I can recommend the coffee at Wilderness Bar - Lawnton. I stopped by after my morning mobile office and I have a one word review. Yum Where do you grab a coffee in the Lawnton, Petrie area?

19.01.2022 There is more than $1 billion in the 2020-21 Queensland State Budget for training and skills initiatives! We're committed to preparing Queenslanders for the jobs of the future and it's never been more important than now, as we recover from a global pandemic. As an electrician by trade, I know how important it is to fund a range of pathways to jobs. That's why I'm proud to say that along with extending free TAFE courses, we're investing:... $32.4 million over two years for the TAFE Priority Skills Fund $25 million over two years for Pre-Apprenticeship Support $8 million over two years for the Social Enterprise Jobs Fund $5 million over two years for the First Nations Training Strategy $5 million in 2020-21 for the Workforce Transition Support Program $16.51 million for the establishment of Manufacturing Skills Queensland $100 million in TAFE facilities across the state

17.01.2022 In case you missed this yesterday... I'm just so excited!!
17.01.2022 Last night I chaired the election of the executive at the Narangba Eagles Football Club AGM. Thanks to the committee for stepping up again after steering the club through the difficult year that 2020 has been. It’s great to see the club in such a good place and it shows what a good job this team are doing.
16.01.2022 It's full steam ahead on the Bruce Highway Interchange project at Burpengary (New Settlement - Deception Bay Rd). I'm amazed by how different it looks down there already after recent clearing! Check out the December project update for upcoming traffic changes and night works.
16.01.2022 I can’t believe that Clive Palmer would try this lie again, i suppose it did work for him at the federal election to help get the lnp elected. He has always had close ties to the lnp though since he worked for Bjelkie Peterson back in the day. Trying to buy a compliant lnp state government by spreading lies is a new low but hey look who we are talking about, has he even paid his workers in Townsville yet?
15.01.2022 I lost a good mate last night. A man who spent his life fighting for whats right, for workers, against asset sales and for social justice. The Qld Electricity Supply Industry would be very different without Simmo and not the great industry it is. His last fight with Melanoma was a battle that he fought like all the others. Please be SunSmart and get checked regularly, no one needs to suffer from this terrible disease.
15.01.2022 I love my footy! And I'm passionate about getting more kids playing community sport. $300,000 in W4Q funding for new facilities at Narangba Rangers RLFC is a good start :-) Like and share if you're a Rangers fan!
14.01.2022 Here's our first artist's impression of how the Bruce Highway Interchange Upgrade will look at New Settlement - Deception Bay Road, Burpengary. Congratulations to BDM Constructions who have won the contract.
14.01.2022 Todays Coronavirus update from the Premier, another zero day
14.01.2022 Infrastructure = Jobs. That's why our budget is investing record amounts in infrastructure projects. And you don't have to look very far in and around the Kurwongbah electorate to see our government's track record when it comes to investment in infrastructure. We're delivering:... A new Dakabin Railway Station Lawnton Station Park n Ride (opening in coming weeks) Cross River Rail Petrie Intersection Upgrade Bruce Highway upgrades New and improved school and sports facilities Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment See more

13.01.2022 Last Friday I joined Mayor Peter Flannery and Cr Mick Gillam Div 8 MBRC for a sod turning at Mathieson Park, Petrie. Together, we're delivering 4 new changerooms at the home of the mighty Pine Rivers Bears. I am proud to have secured $387,000 for this almost $1m project, with Moreton Bay Regional Council coming to the party with the rest. #workingtogethergetsresults #JobsForQld #loveourfooty
12.01.2022 BREAKING: From 1am on Thursday, October 1, were increasing the number of people who can gather at venues and events, as long as its outdoors. It means busine...sses like outdoor dining, beer gardens, theme parks and zoos, can increase the number of patrons outdoors from one per 4 square metres to one per 2 square metres. The maximum number of attendees permitted at events with a COVID Safe Checklist will increase from 500 to 1,000 per day. 10.01.2022 Started the day today with my 10th plasma donation. It came around quickly. If you can donate its not much out of your day and certainly helps to save lives.
09.01.2022 It's Budget Day and I'm so proud to be part of a strong Labor government delivering on our core values, like jobs, health and education. A record $14.2b spend will see us employ more than 6,100 teachers and 1,100 teacher aides over the next four years; spend $1.9b on infrastructure; and invest in a new Turn to Teaching paid internship program to attract aspiring teachers from other fields of work. Watch my page for more exciting budget news...
09.01.2022 One Nations plan is to open the borders and lock away the older, vulnerable or sick until the pandemic is over. Weve been protecting everyone here in Queensla...nd, I make no apologies for that. This Government values our older Queenslanders and those Queenslanders who through no fault of their own are sick, vulnerable or immunocompromised. Were all in this together.
09.01.2022 I believe our community benefits most when all levels of government work together. So it's great to be working with Cr Darren Grimwade to deliver new facilities for Narangba Rangers RLFC, through the Works 4 QLD funding program. #Workingtogethergetsresults

07.01.2022 They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I'll settle for three :-) (@Bruce Highway Interchange Upgrade, Burpengary)
07.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE: Parents are being warned to be on alert when shopping for Christmas gifts this year after six toys were identified as unsafe. Two plush toys, a w...ooden alphabet puzzle, a wooden number puzzle, a magnetic number puzzle and a rainbow circle stacker could be choking hazards for children and have been removed from shelves. The Fair Trading Queensland inspected more than 5,600 toy lines across 266 retailers in a bid to limit the number of dangerous toys children are exposed to over Christmas. #Christmas
07.01.2022 On site at Boral Quarry in Narangba today - what a view! Boral are very receptive to community feedback and I mentioned the issue of trucks on local roads. For more information about local activities - like the koala fodder plantation - or to get in touch, visit https://www.boral.com.au/locations/boral-quarries-narangba-0
06.01.2022 This is a great idea
06.01.2022 Today I joined with the Moreton Bay Lions, Burpengary Police representatives, the hard workers from Caboolture Men's Shed and Betty Taylor from Red Rose Foundation Australia to launch another local red bench. Together we can raise awareness to #ChangeTheEnding and stop domestic violence.
06.01.2022 Todays Coronavirus update from the Premier
05.01.2022 Today I popped down to the Burpengary Cricket Association - Brumbies to see how they were going after their recent vandalism attack, and to drop down some new cricket balls for them. Thanks to Tom for filling me in on how the club is going. It was great to see so many families there supporting the juniors out playing cricket.
05.01.2022 BREAKING: Queenslands border zone will expand from 1am on Thursday, October 1 to include Byron, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Glen Innes council areas.... Border residents can apply for a border pass and travel around Queensland for any purpose, and Queenslanders can travel to those places as well. Its an important step in supporting border communities and ensuring Queenslands economy rebounds not the virus. Our strong borders have kept Queenslanders safe and allowed us to keep our economy going, businesses open and people working. Thanks to Queenslands strong health response and falling numbers of the virus, we can now take a gradual approach to easing these restrictions. #qldjobs #covid19au
05.01.2022 Attn Narangba residents living between Narangba Station and Boscoe Road. On Monday the 28th between 10pm and 4:30am the next day, there will be noisy works carried out. Flyer attached.
05.01.2022 Recently I met with Mark Bailey MP - Labor for Miller and Chris Whiting MP to announce that the construction contract has now been awarded for the $163 million jointly funded interchange upgrade at Deception Bay and New Settlement Roads. Major works will start over the next few months. The contact was awarded to BMD Constructions Pty Ltd.
03.01.2022 Labor believes in a strong TAFE system. That's why we're investing $21 million to extend Free TAFE and Free apprenticeships to Queenslanders aged under 25. This opportunity has already been available to Queenslanders aged under 21, providing training opportunities to more than 24,000 young people and the feedback has been awesome!
01.01.2022 What do you think about the Mighty Redcliffe Dolphins (Official) becoming an NRL club? I reckon its a great idea but I admit Im a bit biased.
01.01.2022 As the end of 2020 approaches, many young Queenslanders will be considering their future. Find out about our government's free apprenticeships now: https://www.qld.gov.au//trai/subsidies/freeapprenticeships
01.01.2022 On TV last week Tim Mander flatly denied that the LNP had called for the borders to be opened. They didnt just do it once, they called for our borders to be opened 64 times just as Victorias second wave was ramping up. They even put up billboards calling for it. Why wont the LNP just be honest with Queenslanders?
