25.01.2022 Starting next weekend, I'll be at a local shopping centre every Saturday or Sunday and finding out what people love and want for the City of Gosnells in the future. I will be a "pop-up" workshop and I'll announce on the day where I'll be!

25.01.2022 Today's community idea results on dining out! Most people like the idea of having a pedestrian-orientated plaza with all the restaurants close by.

24.01.2022 Trying to get votes within the furry community

22.01.2022 I will be attending this talk about one of the City of Gosnells' most valuable natural assets. Unfortunately, my tutor Dr Countney Babb won't be able to attend, as he introduced me to this event. I encourage everyone to go !

22.01.2022 Council elections are a week away! You still have time to post your ballot papers and make your vote count. Only 18.7% of ballot papers have been received back. Lets at least get 25% participation!

22.01.2022 My Candidate Profile! I was born and raised in the City of Gosnells. Having been brought up in Canning Vale and my father working for council, I have fresh engagement with the community. Currently Im studying Urban and Regional Planning at Curtin University. My studies have shown me the importance of public engagement and decision making within the council. Over 40% of the City of Gosnells is under 30, which is younger than any of the current council members. I would like to... give a voice for this younger age bracket. My main goal for the City of Gosnells is to be the leader in sustainability for future generations. My assistance with the Friends of Ellis Brooke Valley program has helped me appreciate the nature reserves the city has to offer. I want to help create a greener, liveable council and I know I can achieve that.

21.01.2022 Over the past few days I have been researching Transport Planning for an essay. I have learnt building new roads to aid congestion is just a short term solution, much like the Roe 8 controversy. We need to invest in a long term solution! Investing our money into improving TransPerth, living closer to our jobs, planning our developments around transport hubs. We need to make buses cool again! Our buses are run on natural gas and are much cleaner than our cars. Try and use one on your next trip and you might enjoy it!

19.01.2022 Today is the last day to post your ballot papers! If you are unable or lost your paper, head to the Gosnells Civic Centre on the 21st to vote in person.

18.01.2022 Vote for Shania HUNT in the upcoming postal election for a more diverse council with newer perspectives.

18.01.2022 I read an article today on local government elections. I tended to agree with some things but the reason I ran for council is seeing scandals and division, I wanted to away from the potential of corruption and fighting. I didnt want to vote for councillors who say they will lower rates because thats what gets votes. I wanted to see people with real passion, so I nominated myself. I really wish younger people who be more interested in local government. If I am elected, I will see if I can do anything to raise the number of young voters or at-least research into the subject. https://www.google.com.au/a/amp.abc.net.au/article/11583070

17.01.2022 Voting Packages are coming in the mail this week, which means big flyer drops! Dont forget to check your mail to vote.

17.01.2022 Upcoming Candidate Profile: I have spent my whole life in the City of Gosnells and want to help it become an example of innovation as a great place to live, work and play. I am studying to be an Urban Planner and hope to specialise in climate change and the environment. The goal of my career is to improve places, like the City, to become an example for sustainability and ensure we have a long-lasting future.... Over the last 6 months, I have worked with the City of Bayswater to research and improve their Verge Garden Policy. It was great be involved in community pride and ecological benefit and would love to see the same enthusiasm in our City. I want is to see the City grow and regenerate. To do this, I would like to partner with Universities and allow students, like myself, to design a more vibrant and active Gosnells.

16.01.2022 Today is the big day! I want thank everyone for your support in me and I would love to show the community my appreciation. I want to wish the other candidates luck and hopefully we get a good result tonight.

16.01.2022 All 5,000 flyers have been handed out in letterboxes around the City of Gosnells! Lets hope all that walking gets me in.

14.01.2022 Save the trees! Instead of getting my flyer in the mail you can read it on Facebook!

14.01.2022 Today is International Day of the Girl. We are celebrating the empowerment of girls and young women. As a woman, I have faced discrimination and as a potential community leader I want to help empower young women. We can do anything, if we put our minds to it!

12.01.2022 There is a lot of talk about climate change right now. The discussion shouldnt be focused on whether it is real or fake, it should be about the future of young people and our children. The younger generations, like me, want to live to our full life expectancy and were scared that the Earth will die before us. Most younger people are not eligible to vote or are not taken seriously. Public demonstrations are a way to get our voices heard and show how passionate we are. If elected, I want this to be the start of my climate change career. I want to help my local area reduce its footprint and in later years help the State design greener town centres and climate planning policies. No matter what happens, climate change is always going to be a big driver in my career.

12.01.2022 Today, I will be at The Vale with the community post-it note board! From 1pm until its full.Today, I will be at The Vale with the community post-it note board! From 1pm until its full.

11.01.2022 A year ago, I wrote an essay on crime in the CBD and how it can be addressed. I researched multiple techniques including: - Crime Prevention through Environmental Design - CCTV surveillance - Vegetation's affect on crime - Neighbourhood Desgin... To minimise crime in the City of Gosnells we need to take the time to research all available options. Some will take years to come into full affect, such as design, others will have a major cost to the City, such as CCTV. As a starting point, we need to trail each technique before spend thousands of dollars on something that could be potentially useless and increases our rates as a result. Personally, I believe we need to address the reasons for crime as a social problems. We need to create facilities and support for drug and alcohol dependent individuals, as well as at risk children. We don't want to create a band aid over the crime problem, we want to work at the cause.

11.01.2022 The Ballot Draw was held today! My name was drawn 4th. That means, I am candidate number 4 on the ballot.

10.01.2022 We found at people like parks with different park infrastructure (playgrounds and walk paths) and the overall greenery. Gosnells Pioneer Park was a popular option amongst people I talked to. With this, we can tell people like when the council install attractive playgrounds and interactive infrastructure.

07.01.2022 I did a big flyer drop today Ill be touring the local shopping centres tomorrow to hand out more flyers. If you see me make sure to come say hi!

07.01.2022 One of the big reasons for wanting to be a councillor was seeing all the internal conflicts within the local councils. I believe councillors should put their energy towards making good decisions and helping the community. I understand people have different opinions but we all have the common goal of improving Gosnells. It that was a true goal for all those in power, there wouldnt be a need to discredit on another. I want to be about to make decisions without bias of liking the person or not, as all decision should be done. Candidates are voted in by the community and I dont want to was energy or resources trying to loose the communitys respect.

05.01.2022 Our Flyers have arrived! Look out for them and your ballot papers in the mail!

04.01.2022 I got my ballot paper! Dont forgot to Shania Hunt. Post them before the 13th October!

04.01.2022 I want to say a big thank you to the 4,410 people that voted for me in the election. Even though I didnt get in, I am over whelmed by your support. I am sure the councillors that were elected will do a great job and help the council for the next four years.

04.01.2022 Come down to have a chat and share your ideas about our local park in City of Gosnells.

03.01.2022 This is the sort of thing we need more of in the City. It really helps people accept other cultures and it's fun!

01.01.2022 Let's create "Future Gosnells", a group dedicated to regenerating Gosnells into a vibrant city centre!

01.01.2022 Luckily Penelope wasnt delivering my flyers because she only did half a lap of Sanctuary Waters! City of Gosnells has lots of cute parks to get your dogs exercising, which Penelope needs. Plus all the baby duckling are out, you can see some behind the pug!
