22.01.2022 New Prototype Product For 2021!! Shan Motorsport Water/Meth Cooler With the peak of summer bearing on us, we thought it'd be the perfect time to release some information on our upcoming test project.... The unit will have the ability to cool both water and methanol or a mix of both. It will accept any M5x0.8 female fittings for various hose sizes and materials. This means this can be used for both HeX Sprayer applications, as well as water/methanol injection systems from manufacturers such as AEM or Snow Performance. At just 140x80x60mm, our prototype has a very small footprint and requires a small amount of space for ventilation (to be tested). We've been working tirelessly getting a prototype ready, so we're hoping to release the product around end of Q1 of this year after we test a few variations. 14.01.2022 Stainless Steel High Pressure Mist Nozzle Upgrade! We have been testing multiple different nozzles to try and find the optimum balance between performance, water efficiency, cost and longevity. While the majority of our testing has been based around nozzles designed for agricultural use, we have decided to begin testing and analysis of a completely new set of customised nozzles.... The nozzles we are testing have a stainless steel head, which feature an orifice of 0.20, 0.30 and 0.40mm (testing in progress), with a spray angle of between 55-65, 80-90, 90-100 respectively for each orifice size. Furthermore, to reduce the possibility of dripping, we have specified a stainless steel impeller which contains spring loaded anti drip valve that both opens and shuts off the nozzle based on a predetermined water pressure level. This mechanism is housed in a Ni plated brass body. We are also happy to announce that if you have already pre-ordered your IC sprayer, this upgrade will be automatically fitted at no cost, and we will not be passing on the extra cost to those who have yet to pre-order our IC Sprayer. 12.01.2022 Results of our latest test Test car: Skoda Superb (EA888 Gen 3 IS20) Ambient Temperature: 14c Humidity: 55%... As we mentioned in our last post, despite reducing water consumption by close to 50% in comparison to our last prototype, we've improved peak performance by up to 4%! In our latest test, with the sprayer switched off, the peak intake air temperature at 6500RPM was approximately 32C. With the sprayer active, this dropped to 28C, a staggering 14% improvement. We can see improvements throughout the entire rev range, with the difference increasing as RPM increases. These results are especially encouraging as all of the testing we have done so far is in quite cold weather, and with quite low boost pressures in comparison to what some our customers cars are capable of. 10.01.2022 Intercooler Sprayer Update: Second Prototype Testing Results Yesterday we received a sample of our new water pump, and our newly specified nozzles. We’re pleased to report several pieces of great news.... The new water pump has resolved an ongoing issue we had with our water pump pulsating due to excess pressure build up. We now have a smooth flow of water, and in addition, an increase in water pressure to approximately 105psi. In conjunction with our water pump, our new nozzles have also improved the shape and the quality of the mist that our rail can produce. The nozzles each produce a wide cone of between 90-100 degrees, which when coupled to our angled rail, results in a massive 140 degree fan of spray. Furthermore, we have also reduced water consumption by almost half. Our new system only consumes approximately 150ml/min, giving a theoretical continuous run time of 5 minutes, when paired with our proposed 800ml tank. While we have reduced water consumption by 50%, we have improved the peak performance of our sprayer by another 4 percent!! We will continue to test what is hopefully our final prototype before moving to production, within the next few weeks. Take a look at our current system in action during water consumption testing.
