24.01.2022 Workshop Wednesday! The bees are back in stock!! Yay!!!! Rose gold, yellow gold, sterling silver. The cutest little ear studs.

23.01.2022 These simple yet elegant leaf earrings have been so popular ever since the first pair I made. Usually I make them in sterling silver but recently I had a go at making some in silver and rose gold. I made 3 pairs and 2 pairs sold straight away so there’s only one pair left looking for a new home...(can post ).

23.01.2022 What other ‘odd pairs’ of studs would you like us to make? I’m thinking moon & stars, hearts &.....

23.01.2022 Stories are what my business has always been about. Every piece of jewellery we make has a story behind it, sometimes a happy story, sometimes sad, often with a touch of both. The people who visit our shop and the people who reach out in other ways - they all have a story. My team and my collaborating artists have stories, and so do I. As we approach 20 years since I made my first ring, and 10 years since opening my shop, I want to mark these milestones by staring to share so...me of those stories with you. So I have shared one of my own on our blog look for the full blog on our website titled Bushfires. Healing through art. Another Phoenix design. Or here’s the link: http://shannoncornish.com.au//bushfires-healing-through-a/ This is my fourth phoenix design. I make no apology for doing yet another phoenix, because it's the design I felt compelled to make. It's a design that gave me some peace and strength and focus through the aftermath of trauma. It's the piece which to me represents the strength of the individual and of the community. I saw-pierce each one by hand so each one is a little unique and full of good energy. I can make them tiny, huge, and anything in-between. I envisaged a design that I could make in silver or gold and which fell outside the box of a gender stereotype style. I wanted anyone to be able to wear one or just have it as a talisman even if they don’t wear it. I want the owner to attach their own story to their phoenix, for it to symbolise whatever they need it to represent for them. It is a symbol of hope, strength, and renewal. Thank you for reading my story, and thank you to those who trust me with their own stories. Shannon

22.01.2022 10 years today since I opened my shop. I can hardly believe it. Here’s a work in progress photo of a new wren design I’ve been working on this strange strange year. Wrens reminds me of some super special people who I wish so badly were still here as they made the world a better place. Shannon.

22.01.2022 This gorgeous ring was just about to go on show - when we had to close the showroom... but we think it still deserves to be admired and who knows maybe it will find it’s new home via social media. It is set with a green tourmaline (0.88carat and 0.166carat of FSI diamonds). 9ct white gold with 18ct yellow gold details. Feel free to contact us for more information.

21.01.2022 Big Magic by @elizabeth_gilbert_writer is a book which makes my heart smile. This week I attended my first ever @businesschicks event and hearing Elizabeth Gilbert speaking was not at all what I was expecting; it was 100 times better than I imagined. I walked into the morning full of anxiety, tension and fear. I walked out with a sense of calm and peace and a gentle determination to be part of the revolution to be a relaxed woman. I'm going to practice taking the rope of wor...ry from around my neck and using it to create a circle around myself with me and my priorities inside. I'm going to work on my boundaries. I'm going to open myself to exploring some mysticism. And I'm going to Live until I Die. One day I might even be brave enough to delete the entire content of my inbox. If I could I would fly interstate to go listen to Elizabeth deliver this talk again. I really hope this is the beginning of your next book Liz! As a business, and a community member who has been impacted by the ramifications of the recent bushfires in our community in the Adelaide Hills I wanted to thank @elizabeth_gilbert_writer for donating her speaking fee to the bushfire relief, you didn't have to, but you did, and we are grateful. It's all gunna be alright. Shannon

20.01.2022 3 months ago today Elliot Jade Cornish entered the world. Thank you to the wonderful midwives and nurses at Flinders Medical Centre who looked after Brooke for 4 weeks and Elliot for a week in special care. Thank you to all the friends, family and customers who helped us in all sorts of ways. Thank you to my team at work who kept things running (again) while I’ve been focusing on family - my business would not survive without my awesome team. And a huge shout out to my wife Brooke who has been through so much and is doing an amazing job.

20.01.2022 Well. 2020 sure has been crazy. Presuming there’s no more surprises here are our planned pre-Christmas trading hours. And a photo of a few shiny pieces going out into the showcase tomorrow....

16.01.2022 Shout out to all the parents trying to work from home . Been a bit quiet on the social media... my little co-worker does not believe in sleep... Ben has been managing the workshop at Woodside seeing people by appointment and making some top secret things... we will make sure to post more photos soon.... stay safe.

12.01.2022 Honesty is so important to us. If we tell you we are going to reuse your old gold and gemstones - we really will. If it’s not possible we will be honest and tell you that also. We take great pleasure in hand-making something new and long lasting using your old jewellery. Check out this ring, Ben melted down the customers old jewellery and made it into something new.

04.01.2022 Beautiful Bee Brooch in Black Box. Handmade in our workshop = hand cut.... each and every hole. Hope you enjoy these before and after photos.

03.01.2022 Dear Valued Customers, We all are hit by the impact of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, we just wanted to send an update of what that means here at Shannon Cornish Artisan Jewellers. The situation changes daily but currently if you are still needing a piece of jewellery made or repaired in these times, we are able to do so. Ben is working in the Woodside studio by appointment only with updated hygiene regime, and physical distancing in effect. Most of our clients needs can be ha...ndled via phone, Skype, email, sms and making use of Australia post to minimise the need for close physical proximity. Yvette and Shannon are working from home in isolation to help prevent the spread, and to keep Ben in a lower risk working environment. All of our jewellery classes have been suspended, but we are working on ways to deliver some content electronically to stay in touch with existing students and for anyone else in isolation who needs some new hobbies. If you make an appointment to meet with Ben you MUST adhere to the government guideline, particularly if you are sick or are meant to be in isolation you must avoid visiting the shop. We understand that many of our customers will be financially impacted by this health crisis which will in turn effect many businesses, we send you all strength through these hard times. For those of you who are able to and are continuing to supporting us and other small businesses, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. There are other ways to support small businesses without it costing you anything. Things such as following either (or both) our jewellery facebook page or classes facebook page, or our instagram pages helps our online visibility. By sharing and commenting on our posts that helps us also. Word of mouth referrals are still the best advertising for any business. In the mean time here is some sparkly bling to brighten up the news feed... Stay safe, isolate as much as possible! Best regards from the team at Shannon Cornish Artisan Jewellers; Shannon, Ben, Josh & Yvette

03.01.2022 Sometimes making jewellery transcends the sum of its parts, and gives us as much emotional connection to a piece, as it does to our customers. In creating this special piece, I was fortunate to be part of a special transformation involving these operculum shells. Their journey to becoming a personal piece of jewellery began in World War 2, where our clients father had collected the shells and kept them in an old tobacco tin.... We were commissioned to design a simple necklace for our client that would resonate with a ring they had asked us to repair late last year, and as they had no specific due date, it was placed in the "non urgent" box and the "Christmas jobs" became the focus up until the last few days before Christmas 2019 arrived. But fate changed those plans. We unfortunately weren’t able to come back to the workshop, so we missed the last 4 work days of 2019, and were unable to finish the job on time... The Christmas holidays came and went. A cancelled family holiday to Kangaroo Island due to bushfires left me spending most of the break watching the CFS website for changing fire conditions.. but a return to work was imminent, and something I was looking forward to.... Upon returning to work in January, I was met with the sad news that our client for this special piece, had lost her home and all her contents. She was very grateful that her pieces hadn’t been finished and collected in December, or they most likely would’ve been destroyed in the fire too! Hence the new significance of this special piece that was created by a series of unfortunate events. It can be an emotional ride with some pieces of jewellery, and what they can signify..... and when the sentimental value is greater than the monetary value, I know I’ve achieved a good result! Ben.
