25.01.2022 My Client Louise has been coming to see me for close to 2 years now, she started off coming only once a week for only 30 mins, with not much change in her body. She slowly progressed and upped her sessions to now 3 x a week for 45 mins, and well her results speak for themselves ! Her body has changed so dramatically since coming 3 x a week ... 21.01.2022 No 1 Pilates Myth You have to be flexible This is a definite NO ! This may come as a surprise, as this is the number one myth every Pilates Instructor hears "I'm not very flexible, I couldn't ever do Reformer Pilates!"... If your not that flexible, or maybe you can feel your body becoming less flexible with age, then Pilates may just be the thing you need ! Reformer Pilates increases your flexibility and strength through the use of elongated movements and stretches that are sneakily incorporated into the workout. A lot of the times muscle tightness can mean muscle weakness, that's why Pilates is so great as it targets both things ! Lastly WBVT may be effective in vascular health promotion and prevention in young obese women".... 10 weeks of WBVT produced significant weight/fat mass reduction, leg strength improvements as resistance training, and enhanced glucose regulation when added to hypo caloric diet. 08.01.2022 ?? ! Truth be told I am not always motivated haha yes I am very discipled and consistent with my own workouts and in my teaching but I am not always motivated. There is a lot going on and life can get in the way but I do Prioritise my workouts, it’s 1 of the things that mentally I need !! It’s a time to just focus on ME ! Which is very important esp if your a mum and work, and have little time on your hands. ... The 1 thing I am learning is that you need to take Breaks - diet breaks, exercise breaks, sleep in when you can, go on a holiday and don’t train if your sick.. I am one to drive myself into a wall because I am too busy to stop, but I am realising there is only 1 person that is going to prioritise and take care of You and that is You ! There are No quick fixes, magic pills, special drinks, you need to create a System that works for You.. Get into the groove of eating foods you like and workouts that you look forward to. Develop good habits and momentum which in-turn you will get you more good habits and momentum. Be patient...progress will come and when it does that in itself is motivating ! Remember ‘your journey to a healthy lifestyle is not about being perfect, it’s about the constant effort you put forth every single day to make it happen. 07.01.2022 A lot of my clients laugh when I give them a certain exercise like "seriously you think I can do that" and my Answers is always "yes you can!" because I know they can. I am definitely an optimist in my teaching and as an instructor and also in my own workouts and 99% of the time all my clients can do that workout and shock themselves in the process ! That is the greatest feeling as an instructor is to watch my clients grow and progress, because the growth can be so much- ...both physically and mentally in what they think they can achieve, because it is usually always so much more than what they ever thought ! It got me thinking what if I didn't push my clients or I was too scared to give them a new exercise ? Well I think I would be cheating myself as an instructor and also cheating them, by not pushing them to their full potential and not showing them that they can do it, both mentally and physically, I would be doing a disservice to them and myself and well that is not the type of instructor I want to be, and to be honest I wouldn't even know how to be that type on instructor ! lol So remember next time when your tackling something new, change your mindset "I can do this" rather than "Im scared" or "I don't think I can" because I promise you the more you try and give it a shot you might just surprise yourself !!
