23.01.2022 So good to see the sun out again! Living in the red zone isn't too bad when this is one of your exercise options. #pittwaterlockdown #iso #xmas2020

23.01.2022 A new certificate arrived today. This training has given me even more skills and tools to use with my clients. Trauma isn't always the big stuff - bullying, rape, abuse, divorce, death. Sometimes it's the accumulation of dozens of smaller things that add up - this past year is a prime example. Lockdowns, alarming news coverage, constant uncertainty all have an effect on your wellbeing. ... Trauma is your body's response and the meaning you attach to something. Trauma is individual. Something that somebody else shrugs off, may leave you with long-lasting effects. It can take years to uncover and resolve trauma. Or, you could try my Fast Freedom Program and have it resolved very quickly. Contact me if you'd like to know more.

22.01.2022 It's amazing how motivating some black circles with ticks inside can be! Ever since I got to almost a full screen for the first time (a week or two ago) I make myself go EVERY day so that I'll get another full screen. Even this week when it's been wet, grey and rough, and I've been a bit tired, I've gone for a swim. I tell myself that I'll have a nap later (did that once) or get an early night (not yet).... I really love my early swim and usually go anyway. I might miss the odd one when I have an early meeting or have to be somewhere. Over the past several weeks, if I've had something on early, I've woken even earlier so I can still get my swim in. This is definitely a summer thing only! I know the importance of resting when you need to and have been getting some rest elsewhere in my day (doing nothing for 5-10 minutes every day, meditating every day). Goal setting is fine and my intention is to do some movement every day (really need to do more!) but I didn't set a goal to swim every day no matter what! Just proves what those game developers have known all along - a small reward (black dot with tick inside) will keep you doing something longer than you might have planned to. What "reward" motivates you to keep doing something? #motivation #moveeveryday

18.01.2022 Who remembers Jo Frost? She was Supernanny. Parents all around the western world tuned in every week to learn how to control their misbehaving children. ... She was queen of the naughty corner! Bad child was seated in the corner, separated from everyone else, while they thought about what they’d done, until they were ready to apologise and then modify their behaviour. I was reading an article the other day, about the rising mental health problems amongst teenagers. Jo Frost and her method of training families was lambasted. The article went on to say that putting children in the naughty corner was effectively ostracising them from the family. The misbehaving child was having a tantrum because they couldn’t effectively communicate their needs. By ostracising them, the child was not learning how to express their feelings, not learning how to make their needs heard, let alone met. This caused trauma that is contributing to their mental health problems today. Whether you were raised with Supernanny, or you were of the generation before that, who were liberally smacked, the article made me think about how we raise our children. My parents were born in the WWII years and spent years separated from their parents. They had tough upbringings grin and bear it lives. I was raised on outstations in Papua New Guinea and Dr Spock’s famous book was Mum’s only reference. My children were born around the turn of this century. I had volumes of pregnancy, baby, infant and growing child books. Steve Biddulph was my constant companion. Every generation has its own right way of raising children. The rules even change between one baby and the next. I’m sure that most parents are really and truly doing the very best they can, with the best intentions in the world. Most parents love their children and want the best possible for them. One thing I do know, is that almost every person I see in my practice, is carrying trauma (big and small) that resulted from their relationship with their parents even when they are sure that they had a wonderful relationship! It seems no matter how hard parents try to do the right thing, inevitably the child will grow up with some kind of wounding that initiates limiting beliefs and behaviours that hold them back in their pursuit of dreams, goals and happiness. That sounds pretty pessimistic doesn’t it? The good news is that with help, people can override their early experiences, overcome their limiting beliefs and behaviours, and go on to live happy and fulfilled lives! Using advanced hypnotherapy and Soul Coaching, I can hold the space and help you heal your trauma to find freedom. Contact me to find out more.

14.01.2022 At last! The first Soul Coaching vision board workshop for the year is being planned! This is much deeper than just sticking pictures on a board, of things we might want. ... We're exploring our subconscious desires and unveiling deep layers of support and guidance. It's going to be fun! Saturday 6th February - who's interested?

12.01.2022 Doing nothing is the hardest thing when it's not a regular practice! I'm practicing 5-10 minutes of doing nothing every day at the moment. That's not reading, not having a coffee or water, not knitting. It's not looking at my phone or TV. It's doing no-thing!! ... I sit on my back step and watch the trees, lie in my back yard and watch the clouds. I might sit on my lounge and just look at the pictures on the walls. Or sit at my dining table, watching the birds outside. I fidget a bit, trying to slow my thoughts. (I'm not meditating at this time either.) It's an interesting exercise and I'm enjoying it. Do you ever just stop and do nothing?

10.01.2022 Hiro Boga writes so eloquently and beautifully. I read this exploration of healing this morning and had to share it.
