17.01.2022 Once young children have the basic swimming skills, it takes a while for them to mature and become stronger, please dont give up during this time. Give your ch...ildren lots of encouragement and the more their coordination and skills increase they will master the swimming stroke they are working on. Please remember we teach each child to their individual skill level. If you have a question about your childs progress please ring the office of the Shapland Swim School you attend and they can help you further. www.shapland.com.au/locations See more

13.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Shapland Swim Schools can continue classes whilst larger schools and leisure centres are closing. This is because of our 3 to a class limit and that theres only 2 classes in the pool at any given time. This means that we simply do not have anywhere near the amount of people in our waiting or pool areas that the centres that are currently closing down have.... We again ask that only one adult accompanies children to swimming lessons where possible to keep numbers in the waiting areas as reduced as possible at all times. Please rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to keep customers and staff safe.

13.01.2022 ADDITIONAL SAFETY PRECAUTION We are asking that only one adult attends swimming lessons with children wherever it is possible to do so for the foreseeable future. This is to limit the amount of people in the waiting room at any given time and to go one step further to prevent the spread of COVID-19.... Thank you for your ongoing support throughout these difficult times. Please rest assured that we are doing all we can to maintain a safe and sanitised environment for your children.

13.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are open and ready to get this year started! We look forward to seeing you all soon.

12.01.2022 All smiles at Shapland Carindale

12.01.2022 Tell us how you have been spending the holidays so far! Have you been on a vacation? Done something super fun or exciting? We would love to hear all about it!

12.01.2022 And our final winner is .... SETH OBRIEN. Well done! Let your teacher know at your next lesson and they can tell you where to collect your prize from. Everyone did such an amazing job and we cannot wait to have all of your colourful art decorating the viewing room.

11.01.2022 We hope everyone is keeping safe while we cant see your kids each week. Hear from Michael about what has been happening at the school since lessons have been suspended. We are missing your kids very much and cant wait to come back bigger and better

11.01.2022 Our teachers are passionate, committed and know how to have fun! In the coming months were going to be featuring them one by one so that you can learn about their interesting backgrounds, exciting aspirations and why your children love coming to their lessons at Shapland Carindale

09.01.2022 LESSONS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE It is with a heavy heart that we need to inform all our loyal customers that as of midnight (March 23) all lessons at Shapland Carindale will be suspended until further notice. The decision to suspend lessons was not taken lightly, but the health and safety of our schools community is our top priority. We would have loved to have continued providing swimming lessons and normality to your childrens lives during this time.... Over the next few days we will be sending out a newsletter with all relevant information. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support - we know we will get through this together. Many thanks, Michael and Diana Pavlou

06.01.2022 COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED As Michael said... another exciting promotion coming soon!

05.01.2022 We have quite a few children come to us scared of swimming lessons or water in general. Y...ou may need to take small steps with introducing them to the water, you can start this process at home. Start with small amounts of water from your fingertips over their head letting small amounts of water run over their face and head. If they get concerned with this small step, don't get a face washer or towel to dry their face, distract them with a toy in the bath or shower. You can also get a small watering can and run this over their hands, shoulders and getting your child to tip it over your head then their own. Slowly desensitizing them to the feeling of the water on their face, when they are ready they will then have the confidence to put their face in the water of their own accord. Walking in different depths, finding their ideal leave to get their balance is the reason Shapland Swim School pools are designed with 8 different levels, this way we can find the level that best suits your child to build their confidence that the water will hold them up. Call your local Shapland's now to get more information as to how we can help your child over come their fears and learn the important life saving skill of swimming, go to www.shapland.com.au/loactions to find your nearest school. 01.01.2022 No classes this Monday as were closed for the Labour Day public holiday

01.01.2022 Come and join us over this school holiday period, we are staying open so use up those make up lessons and help your kids burn some excess energy.

01.01.2022 CLASSES CONTINUING AS NORMAL AT SHAPLAND CARINDALE Were taking all necessary safety precautions and closely following the advice of the Australian Department of Health. Our safety measures include:... - constantly cleaning all surfaces in the pool area and waiting room with disinfectant - removal of all toys from the playing area - hand sanitisers are available in the waiting room for all parents and children to use; as well as a supply in the pool area which our teachers are using between every class - teachers have as little physical contact with students as possible, but this cannot be avoided entirely when teaching children to swim - all students are encouraged to stay home if sick and utilise our unique and free Make Up System. This can be done easily through MySSS. https://www.shapland.com.au/mysss or via the app. COVID-19 will not survive in properly chlorinated water; our pools are fitted out with a state of the art filtration system and are monitored rigorously to ensure that adequate chlorine and other chemical levels are optimal. These directions are all about supporting a national effort to contain and slow the spread of COVID-19. Each one of us, and our school, play a vital role in this effort. We are doing our best to prevent the disruption of classes for our students and will continue to provide communication as Australias response to COVID-19 evolves.
