22.01.2022 Regional Creative Industries Workshop Phil Barry Chamber Scotland Place Balaklava Tuesday 3 December 2019 4.30pm 7.00pm Background Following the regional Cr...eative Industries forum in Port Pirie earlier this year there has been a series of sub-regional workshops specifically associated with the creative industries and several projects commenced and several more identified. The South Australian Government have released its Creative Industries discussion paper noting that the creative industries are a strength of the state’s economy. They are crucial to building a dynamic economy that provides new job opportunities, fosters entrepreneurialism and strengthens the future of our state. The Legatus Group (Regional Organisation of Councils) have contracted Flinders University via PhD Intern Verity Laughton to undertake a research project on the creative industries and innovation in the region. The research to be conducted will assist in the development of a data base of individuals, organisations and projects across the Barossa, Yorke Peninsula, Mid North and Flinders Ranges. The Regional Creative Industries workshop is designed to provide updates on the progress of current programs in the region and discuss opportunities for increased collaboration and ideas.
