25.01.2022 Thank you to our supporters and partners for helping us fund a project at our partner school at Ee Htu Hta Internally Displaced People’s Camp in Burma. As a result of your generosity, teachers have been paid. However, Ee Htu Hta has now been hit by devastating floods. This amplifies the challenges that this lockdown period has already presented to our team along the Thai-Burma border. We rely on your support now more than ever. Although we’re currently separated, when we co...me together to Share Hope, we can still be part of a positive change. Visit www.sharinghope.org.au/donate to donate.

25.01.2022 A huge thank you to everyone who participated in or donated to our Not Forgotten 10 for 10 Challenge this October. Look at what you have acheived in just one month! 3000 people in remote villages are now guaranteed medical supplies for 12 months. 370 students in two schools will now be able to keep studying for the next 12 months. Wow - all the $10s did grow quite tall didn't they?! #notforgotten10for10

21.01.2022 A shout out to all the teachers who work so hard to give kids in the Karen State a chance to get an education. Thank you!! Sharing Hope supports almost 200 teachers in our 14 partner schools. Help us show them they are not forgotten and sign up or donate to our Not Forgotten 10 for 10 challenge this October. sharinghope.org.au/campaign #notforgotten10for10

21.01.2022 Cuteness alert! Here are some very special Karen children doing chores in their parent's veggie garden as part of the Not Forgotten 10 for 10 Challenge. Listen as they count up to 10 in Karen! Thank you so much guys for supporting Sharing Hope! #notforgotten10for10

21.01.2022 What will the next 10 years of Sharing Hope look like? This is the question that we got to reflect on during our recent Vision Day. We reflected on the first 10 years of Sharing Hope in which we’ve been blessed to have had so many successful trips and projects in. We now look forward toward the next 10 years. ... Our vision will always be to support Karen refugees and Internally Displaced People and continuing to partner with locals on the Thai-Burma border to see more people getting access to quality education and medical support. We want to see more Karen leaders empowered and equipped to serve in their communities. Especially in these times of greater adversity, we want to always be sharing hope.

20.01.2022 It’s time to get cooking! Today we are making a Burmese tea leaf salad! Meet our wonderful chef, Moo Say Paw! Here’s a little bit about herself and her story: ‘I would describe myself as creative, adventurous and optimistic. I’m studying science at Monash with an interest in the medical field. I was born in Umpiem Refugee camp, Thailand, and my family moved to Australia in 2006. Even though we have been calling Australia home, Kaw Thoo Lei will always be in my heart.’... An enormous thank you to the team involved in creating and developing this video.

20.01.2022 Our project partners are amazing! Even in remote villages, with a myriad of challenges and way too little resources, they are working hard to ensure their community is COVID-19 safe.

19.01.2022 Please remember students and teachers in remote villages on the Thai-Burma border. With increasing cases of COVID-19 in the area, and no resources or facilities for remote learning, schools are working hard to ensure that the students can continue to learn in a safe environment.

11.01.2022 Hope amidst so much bad news coming out of Burma: In the last two days the High School at Ee Htu Hta Internally Displaced Peoples Camp thanked us for our support and then we heard from our amazing partners at Bendigo Baptist Church and MADCOW Australia to say that the Bendigo community raised over $6000 for Ee Htu Hta High School over Christmas! What an incredible effort with such far-reaching impact on students and teachers in the Karen State! Thank you!

06.01.2022 A great clip about Htee Ther Ley (Thee Thel Lel) village where Sharing Hope partners with the school. The clip was filmed and produced by the TMK Student Medial Group. A team from Sharing Hope did media training with them in 2019. Thanks TMK Student Media Group!

06.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first, virtual cooking class. If you would like to recreate this Burmese tea leaf salad at home, swipe to the ingredients you’ll need! The uncertainty of this lockdown has particularly challenged our team Sharing Hope along the Thai-Burma border. Food and medical supplies are scarce. If you would like to donate, please head to the link in our bio.

04.01.2022 In the past month, 4000 Karen villagers have been forced from their villages. All of our Karen friends on the border are in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult and turbulent time. You can read more about the progression of these recent events in the following articles: the Tatmadaw has resumed killing civilians, destroying villages, and displacing people from their homes, despite early promises of peace http://ow.ly/T0TT50DmvO3... 4,000 people are now hiding in the jungle without food and shelter as a direct result of mortar shelling and increased militarisation by the Burma Army. Quote and picture from: http://ow.ly/eXEm50DmvO1 "Burma Army attacks have increased in Karen State, Burma, in spite of a ceasefire." http://ow.ly/LZMg50DmvO2

01.01.2022 Villages like Nya Lit Ah Hta don't have access to government health care. Until Sharing Hope helped fund the medical clinic at Kaw Moo Rah High School teachers and students would have to travel to Thailand and pay for medical treatment. If they couldn't afford the money for travel and medical care they would have to do the best they could - not a great option in an area with high cases of malaria and dengue fever. With funds raised from our Not Forgotten 10 for 10 Challenge we can keep funding critical medical supplies to clinics like Kaw Moo Rah. Kaw Moo Rah High School #notforgotten10for10
