24.01.2022 In 2008 I had the privilege of travelling with my high school choir, Hoërskool Jeugland, to Europe to compete in the World Choir Olympics. This experience opened my eyes to the wonders of music from all over the globe! I have fond memories of busking, serenading and sightseeing, as we galavanted the streets of Prague, Venice and Italy! ... I learned a valuable lesson from our choir director which has stuck with me ever since...he taught that nothing worthwhile is easy. A truthful wisdom indeed I repeat this phrase to my students often. #illustratedtimelineNO4

24.01.2022 I love this video. A piano’s purpose is powerful. https://youtu.be/7PoGNaV2s0k

21.01.2022 In 2003 my parents gifted me with a beautiful piano for my birthday. I have shared many emotions with my piano. Happy, sad and everything in between. Music has flowed through me and this piano in hours of pondering, tinkering and soul replenishing. This is a sneak peak of an illustration of my life in a time line that I’m working on. Watch this space ... Music has the ability to speak to one’s soul in ways that nothing else can

20.01.2022 It’s been so good to teach in person again! Music has been a safe place during the wild COVID19! My students are COVIDSafe and wear gloves after sanitising the piano and hands. Anything to tickle the keys

13.01.2022 Being grateful for what you have, goes a long way! This song is precious to me. I sing and play it whenever I'm feeling down, or ungrateful. #begrateful #sing #singer #piano #pianolessons #musiclessons #musicteacher #pianomusic https://soundcloud.com/shari/because-i-have-been-given-much

11.01.2022 Loved sharing this peaceful moment with an elephant :P <3

11.01.2022 #Illustratedtimeline2 As a little tot, I often held performances for my family in the living room, car, pool; anywhere really! My first official performance on a stage for a bigger audience was when I was between 4/5 years of age. I sang Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam as a solo for our children’s primary presentation, to a congregation of 200+ at church. ... My love for singing and performing was born at that moment. Sharing music brought me great joy and still does to this day! I have discovered that doing and sharing what you love is the most fulfilling thing that one can do for yourself and others!

08.01.2022 COVID19 got me like:

06.01.2022 Today is South African Father’s Day I was born into a family with the best Pa in the world. Cliché I know, but my dad is the best dad for me. He is a fierce protector; a kind, giving and loving father. He paved the way, hand-in-hand with my beautiful mother, for me to become a success. From him I have learnt so many things...to be courageous, generous, brave and affectionate, to name a few. ... He introduced me to Elvis Presley music amongst many other greats. His love for music has influenced me since the day I was born. My pa has always supported my music and talent. I am so grateful to have him in my life and now in the life of my baby girls. They adore their Oupa and he loves them fiercely. Happy Father’s Day Pappa Hulk P.s. this is my first illustration of #sharislifetimeline that I’ll be sharing

03.01.2022 2010 kickstarted unthinkable adventures... South Africa hosted the Soccer World Cup and most significantly for me, it’s when we departed my birth-land. I call 2010 the year of Shakira’s soundtrack to life because everywhere you went Shakira’s voice sang Waka Waka! It’s time for Africa! ... It was indeed a bitter sweet year. Leaving behind all I knew and entered into the unknown (yes, like Elsa). #illustratedtimelineNo5

03.01.2022 A new term! A new day of teaching what I love!
