10.01.2022 A cockatoo with a view. Everyone loves to hang out at Big Lagoon in the Francois Peron National Park. The galah, also known as the pink and grey cockatoo or rose-breasted cockatoo, is the only species within genus Eolophus of the cockatoo family. Found throughout Australia, it is among the most common of the cockatoos. www.sharkbaycoastaltours.com.au ... #biglagoon #justanotherdayinwa #australiascoralcoast #tourismwa #francoisperonnationalpark #cockatoo #pinkandgrey #bird #oceanviews #treetops #sharkbay

03.01.2022 Peekaboo, we can still see you. This cheeky little Golden Ghost Crab out ran tour guests to make his way to shelter back in a tunnel. Ghost crabs are semi-terrestrial and dig their burrows on the beach. As they still breathe using their gills, Ghost crabs still need to return to the ocean periodically to re-wet their gills as well as release their larvae, which swim in the plankton before metamorphosing and returning to the beach. To help avoid drying out they spend most of ...the day inside burrows, which may be a metre or more deep. At night they leave their home to feed on carrion, molluscs, crustaceans, washed up seaweed and even turtle hatchlings. www.sharkbaycoastaltours.com.au #justanotherdayinwa #australiascoralcoast #sharkbay #waholidayguide #wanderoutyonder #ghostcrab #crab #beach #amazing_wa #animals #reddirt #francoisperonnationalpark #biglagoon
