20.01.2022 Need to let some water out of your pool ? You can do it on backwash or waste . Waste will bypass the filter and go straight down the drain . Backwash will clean your filter at the same time .so best to kill 2 birds with one stone and do it on backwash. Disregard the clear part in the video with the dirty water if you are not just cleaning your tank but want to take your levels down . Some chlorinators also have a safety cut out after 5 minutes to protect it if water flow is not going over the cell . Just turn it back on until you get water down to the level you want . Cheers

15.01.2022 Guys its so important to maintain your pool and learn how to look after it properly even if you get monthly maintenance from outside or you think tne pool will look after itself. I just did a job where people were getting their pool tested at pool shop. Their cell had died on chlorinator so they started putting chlorine in the pool . Powdered chlorine based in calcium can be very damaging to your pool and equipment . Pool shop failed to tell them that they had high calcium le...vels and should not be putting anymore calcium based chlorine in their pool. High levels result in scale which deposits and sets like concrete, in your filter sand , on your surface or wherever it can.It can also reject the calcium and make the pool milky In this case the pool walls were green , scale has deposited onto surface over the algae therefore making the algae impenetrable with chlorine. Then green algae is now stuck under the scale on the walls and floor and cannot be removed. The best thing to do would have been to fix the chlorinator. There should be gas coming off your cell when filter system is running. No gas means its not making chlorine and your cell is probably dead. Get to know your pool by getting a run down by a professional. This pool is only 4 yrs old and will need to be drained and acid washed to remove the scale and algae. It has more than likey affected the sand in the filter as well which will also need to be replaced,. See more

08.01.2022 Regular monthly maintenace . Get the right equipment and maintain your pool reguarly and your pool can look like this all year round

08.01.2022 Install chlorinator and convert from chlorine to salt, drain half of pool to remove high calcium and cyanuric acid levels from overuse of granular chlorine. Replace sand in filter which was calcified from high calcium levels, install new cleaner, replace seal on pump. And were ready to go with a much more manageable pool now .

08.01.2022 Backwashing cleans the media in your filter . This should be done once a month including winter. Here are some samples of media from 2 filters that are only a couple of years old but have not been backwashed on a regular basis Media has solidified and it is like clumps of mud and organic matter in there . It is also a breeding ground for bacteria . Healthy media means a healthy pool . It is a messy and expensive job to replace the sand/glass . Maintenance is the key to looking after your pool . These pools were green and its a much harder process to fix with a filter that is not functioning correctly so glass media had to be replaced. Filter media should be replaced after 7 years or sooner if you do not maintain chemistry and backwash reguarly

07.01.2022 Tip for the day : Im finding a lot of systems are choking up with all of this dust . Especially if the filter media is more than 5 yrs old. Be sure to backwash sand filters or clean your cartridges. A lot of them are not coping with the dust . If your filter media is more than 5 yrs old you may want to replace it .

06.01.2022 This pool had a robot cleaner and continually looked like the first 3 pictures. Results speak for themselves after installing a good quality suction cleaner suited to this pool

06.01.2022 Drain pool and acid wash to remove calcium. This wouldnt be necessary if you maintain your equipment and chemistry . Please be careful what you put in your pool . Calcium based chlorine can be very bad for your pool in many ways . If your chlorinator is not working have it fixed or replaced if needed . This is the best way to run your pool , it will cost you less in the long run and will not damage or affect your pool or equipment like chlorines can.
