12.01.2022 Reps Sydney South Hockey Association Representative Hockey Flyer FAQ’s... What is REP Hockey? This is the opportunity for any keen hockey player to learn a little more about themselves as hockey players and the game of hockey. You will make new friends and you will become better friends with the people who you already play with. Instead of playing for your club you play for your Association. It is the first step in the pathway to becoming a hockey player representing your state and Country. If you choose.. Otherwise it is the first time you will get to play hockey that is fun and the focus is on enjoying the company of new like minded people. Where do we go? We travel to places such as Canberra, Orange, Grafton, Wagga and Lismore for State Championships that are held over 3 days. We also travel to places closer to home for 1 day carnivals.Families really enjoy the trips as they get to spend time with each other. In the last 8 years that I have been involved with rep hockey there is not anywhere that I have not been...which I am very grateful for. What do I get from this experience: I make new friends,I learn how to play better hockey, I develop a better sense of the player I want to become,I get to see more of my beautiful state, i get some time off school, I meet new people.. Carnivals: Are the best part of this experience, the travel, the scout camp, the train to Wagga, and the conversations over great coffee and rolls at Moorebank. This is where the fun is. How much does it cost? You pay for you players Accommodation (Girls stay as team, Boys do not) Travel (if the team travels together in the past we have caught a train and bus) Food (if team travels together) Entry to Championships Field hire at Championships HNSW fee for championships Uniform (shirts) hire You also pay for the officials who travel/ The coaches, managers and umpires have their cost subsidised which comes from the players. The Umpires get an extra payment for their time umpiring which the player pay for For each of the Carnivals the players pay entry fee and umpire hire. This is usually approximately $50-$75 per player This varies depending on where you are going fo

10.01.2022 Don't forget U11-U13s Training on Sundays Last week was our first Tomahawk Academy...our focus was on dribbling with vision and learning to eliminate players by stepping and moving. We practiced our aerial skills on for stick and reverse stick, we learnt how to do injections and we perfected our one touch scoring movements into the goal as we run from middle circle towards the right post.
