25.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE As you would be aware, SA’s hard lockdown will cease at midnight tonight, and SA will revert to the social distancing restrictions in place prior to the lockdown. As such, all community sport (games and trainings) will remain cancelled until further notice. Fingers crossed that this will only be another week or so! ... We will continue to follow the public health advice from SA Health, and will continue to work with WPSA and SAALC to get you back in the pool ASAP. Stay safe, Sharks! 25.01.2022 VALE LYNN MARTIN It is with heavy hearts that we advise of the passing of Henley Sharks Life Member, Lynn Martin. Lynn passed in the early hours of Thursday morning, at home, following a long battle with cancer. Lynn was a wonderful leader, and made an enormous contribution the Henley Sharks and Water Polo South Australia over almost 50 years, both as a player and an administrator (including many years as the WPSA President). He was recognised as a Life Member of both ...Henley Sharks & Water Polo SA. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole Martin family, especially his wife, Joanne, and his four sons Daniel, Matthew, Nicholas & Patrick - our friends and fellow Henley Members. Rest easy and in peace, Lynn. You have left a wonderful legacy and mark on Henley and waterpolo in SA.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to postpone our AGM to a date later in 2020 (date TBC). However, since you all have this in your calendar already (right!?! ), we are going to use this opportunity to catch up with you all and have some fun! 21.01.2022 UPDATE - BACK IN THE POOL **Please read in full** Dear members,... We have some exciting news! We have been given the all clear to get back into the water! This means we have one last training session before the Christmas / New Year Break (so long 2020!). TRAINING - Seniors: Monday 7th December 6:30pm 7:30pm - Juniors: Tuesday 8th December 6:15 7:15pm (Note the change of time. Hopefully this will be a once off.) SAALC pool entry It is mandatory that when entering SAALC that ALL members scan SAALC’s QR code and log your attendance at the facility. This is a SA Government requirement and please remember to follow SAALC’s instructions at all times and remember to follow social distancing rules at all times. WPSA Comp Games will recommence for 1 more round in 2020 on this Sunday. Please refer to the updated fixture here: https://www.revolutionise.com.au/wpsa/games/. Training Fees We understand members paid a full term (4) of training fees but due to recent government restrictions, a few training sessions have been missed. The committee understands this and have agreed to reduce Term 1 fees to $30 to make up for the loss of training session that members missed during Term 4. Christmas Celebration and AGM A reminder, (unless restrictions come back into place), we are holding our Christmas Celebration and AGM at the Warradale Hotel (outdoor veranda) on Monday 14th December at 6:30pm where members and families can purchase their own drinks and meals. It isn’t too late to nominate yourself to be part of the committee or even as a volunteer as we always need assistance in running the club! 21.01.2022 SEASON 2020/21 REGISTRATIONS A reminder - games restart THIS WEEK! You MUST be registered before you play your first game - this is for insurance purposes and for contact tracing purposes. You will not be able to play if you are not registered. Please click on the link below to register ASAP. 18.01.2022 To all Henley Members, Effectively immediately, all training and games have been cancelled till further notice. This includes tonights seniors training; Monday 16th November. It was announced today that from Tuesday 17th November 12:01am, all gyms and recreation centres closed and Community sport fixtures (indoor and outdoor) temporarily cancelled for the next 2 weeks. ... Therefore, following this precedent and out of an abundance of caution, Henley are also, effective immediately, suspending all Club training sessions. The health and welfare of our members and the broader community is the highest priority. We will keep you informed as matters develop, and as soon as we can get you all back in the water. Stay safe, look after your loved ones, and wash your hands! #StaySafeSharks

17.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFO - COVID CONTACT TRACING Please make yourselves aware of the below requirements at each pool when you arrive for your games for the purposes of COVID contact tracing St Peters... - Please sign in at the table set up near the Pool Attendant’s desk - players AND spectators. - Tracking sheets will be in the Red Folder - Each team will be responsible to having someone man the table prior to games. Please help out and bring along a volunteer to assist. - Home team of the final game (the duty team) should help collect sign in sheets and return red folder to pool attendants SAALC - Please sign in at the table set up near the EVENTS entrance (NOT MAIN ENTRANCE). All Players and spectators should marshal at this entrance and enter once the table is manned and door opened this will allow players and spectators to enter without cost. - table will be manned 15 minutes prior to game and 10 after game starts (for late comers) - Each home should provide someone to man the table - Last home game manager/helper (duty team) to collect all signed sheets and return to Red folder Please assist your managers, coaches and pool attendants with compliance with these requirements. 04.01.2022 UPDATE - SENIOR TRAINING TIME & TRAINING FEES Dear members, We hope everyone is well and safe and are enjoying being back in the pool. It has been great to see most (and new) members in the pool.... Please note we have some important news. Effective Monday 31st August Senior training time will be 6:30pm 7:30pm. (applies to Seniors only) This is because of SAALC’s staff rostering towards their lifeguards and wants everyone out the pool so the centre can have everyone out by 8pm as a result of COVID trading times. Seniors: Monday 6:30pm 7:30pm Juniors: Tuesday 5pm 6pm After further discussions with SAALC, they have agreed to drop the pool entry fee and revert back to our previous fee structure. This is great news as the new COVID fee structure saw Henley receive a 66% fee increase and this was unsustainable. What does this mean to our members? Effective immediately and for the rest of Term 3, members DO NOT need to pay any pool fees as Henley will be paying Term 3 pool hire to encourage as many members back in the pool. (Make sure you take advantage!!) However from Term 4 onwards, we will go back to our previous training fee structure where members are required to pay $60 per term through TeamApp in the ‘Store’ section. All members who are attending training should enter via the main entrance and use their Henley Sharks / SAALC membership card; for which they can swipe this card through the automatic members gates. This means there is no need to go up to the front counter. (For new members, your card will be available at the front counter.) In the event you forget to bring your membership card: You will need to wait in the queue to sign in. You will need to sign the contact tracing document. If you don’t, you won’t be admitted inside SAALC. If you have forgotten your card more than twice, you will need to pay SAALC their casual admittance as a fine. If you have lost your card, you will need to buy a new card ($8). We also ask all members to please respect and follow SAALC’s instructions at all times and that our members are their representing Henley Sharks Water Polo Club. If anyone has any concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your coach or a committee member who will then investigate. If you haven’t already; a reminder that Henley Sharks has updated our COVID Safety Plan (Version 7 to reflect the COVID Marshal requirements) and we encourage all members (and parents) to please read. Round 6 for Juniors (continuing on the 2020/21 season due to finish in late March). As such, Henley will be offering a reduced training fee of $30 for Term 1 trainings.
