24.01.2022 Finally started my second altered board book gluebook last night to use up some of my stash of images. My first in an identical book was done about 5yrs ago and its great to see and feel the differences of process and confidence I have now with collage.

22.01.2022 Ive put together my nature inspired journal and filmed a flip through. It has a long way to go before its finished but this gives you an early look through. Some of the pages have prints from old botanical books. I love the mix of modern colours with these vintage look prints.

21.01.2022 This board is on its 3rd morph with so many layers I’ve lost count but I’m happy with where it’s headed this time round. Quite a few classes learning new styles later I’ve realised this one happened because I let go and trusted my own mark making and intuitive process. Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful for the learning and all wonderful teachers that have made their process available to learn from but it’s time to acknowledge that my own style is emerging richer and stronger than ever. I need to get back to developing it further without distractions because no matter how much we try to make someone else’s style fit our own it never really looks or feels right. 18.01.2022 Down here in the South were about to celebrate the fertility and abundance of seasonal moment Bealtaine. Beautiful Spring weather and new life is blooming everywhere. Today as I put up my Bealtaine canvas Ive been reflecting on the last 12 months. Last year when I finished it I was in a very different space physically, mentally and emotionally and Im extremely grateful for all the changes that have happened for me and all the new growth and abundance thats come my way. A year can make a huge difference. 16.01.2022 And now for something completely different! Decided to finally treat myself to this online course with @indarsworld called stained glass trees on carlasonheim.com. Lots more to do but Im loving how the blue one looks like mist through the tree. This kind of painting is so meditative to me. Trees are one of my favourite things, Ive taken 100s of photos of them I think theyre living sculptures. 15.01.2022 Five years ago I created a deck of oracle cards called Symbolic Signposts and although the concept is still relevant Ive recently starting redesigning them and here is a sneak peek at some Ive finished. A lot has happened in that 5 years. Ive been on quite a big personal journey and with fresh eyes Ive switched the order of some of the cards and added another 9 which makes it feel a more complete picture of the steps we take many times during our lives as we change and ev...olve. Im not rushing to finish them this time round but just enjoying the process. Itll be wonderful to see the completed card set so different to the first as I am a very different artist and person than I was back in 2014. Hope you like them!
13.01.2022 Another small glue book finished mainly during our extreme weather when it was too hot in the studio. Glueing bits down on pages is my form of creative relaxation I love it, very random and spontaneous! I find as soon as I let my planning mind get involved all the fun goes out of it. A jumble of images that dont make sense together or do they....?

05.01.2022 Been a long time since Ive been excited by my art but Ive got my mojo back and loving this old to new canvas! This is where Im at after 3 days work almost finished covering the old work that was going nowhere. So much of myself in this one...bits of texture photos taken on my travels, gelli prints and bits of old text for my love of the evolution of human creative expression. Im feeling Ill probably leave this as is - no paint or stencilling - and let the collage speak for itself.
05.01.2022 2005-2008 I made a number of altered books but moved into making junk style journals using only the covers of old books with new stitched in pages. Thanks to wonderful artists Kelly @book.and.paper.arts and @lorrimarie on Instagram and YouTube Ive been inspired to try my hand at some again. I recently found this old book that will be perfect for altering and Ive started preparing it. Im looking forward to seeing what I can do this time round as my art has come a long way since those early books. With all my other projects it may be awhile before I have any art to share from it but keep an eye out!
