24.01.2022 I was living and working in Queenstown when the decision to save the Franklin River was announced and have many memories of this incredible and divisive time. Certainly the events of this time and what occurred has shaped my life. I am privileged to now live and work in Strahan, on the edge of the World Heritage area, knowing that the Gordon and Franklin Rivers will be protected and enjoyed for generations to come.

21.01.2022 Yes, another great day in Strahan in Winter. We would love you here to share our special place and we look forward to welcoming you to stay with us in Strahan at Sharonlee Villas. Please phone us for the best deals.

21.01.2022 It has been another sunny, but cool day in Strahan, with blue skies and Macquarie Harbour certainly looked a picture. We would love to welcome you to Strahan and the West Coast, and although we cannot always guarantee blue skies, we can assure you that your stay with us will be safe and warm.

18.01.2022 It is great to see a local family, the Morrison's, still carrying on the family tradition working with such an amazing timber, huon pine.

17.01.2022 We certainly recommend a visit to the West Coast Heritage Centre in Zeehan and pleased to see them open. We are also open and would love to welcome you to stay with us in Strahan. We, like all businesses in Strahan and the West Coast, have our Covid 19 Safe plan in place and we can guarantee your safety is our priority.

17.01.2022 I love these buildings in Strahan and well done to Parks and Wildlife for a great restoration of both for us to continue to enjoy.

17.01.2022 Wow! I love this place. If you have not experienced the magic of the Gordon River then put it on your bucket list and do it. We would love to welcome you to stay when you do. Thank you Anne and Gordon River Cruises for sharing this beautiful image.

15.01.2022 I love these birds and we do need to preserve their habitat so they can survive. We have a very large blue gum just behind Reception that when in flower attracts the Swift parrots and it is a delight to listen to them, although difficult to see them, so this is a great image of one eating the nectar of the blue gum flowers. I look forward to welcoming them soon when the tree is hopefully in flower.

12.01.2022 We are so fortunate to have our own Waterfall in our town where you can take an easy 45 minute return walk in rain-forest through Peoples Park to Hogarth Falls. These photos taken yesterday of the Falls show that you must not miss experiencing this wonderful attraction when visiting Strahan.

06.01.2022 Make the Gordon River in the World Heritage area one of your must do places to visit and experience to come down for air.

05.01.2022 We are experiencing wonderful clear days and always enjoy the view of the fishing boats and their reflections on Macquarie Harbour. We look forward to welcoming you to Strahan soon when we can safely open so you too can enjoy our special place.

03.01.2022 Autumn is a great time to enjoy the colours of Strahan and the red toadstools (amanita muscarias) found growing under the silver birch trees in our grounds always fascinate me. If you look carefully you may see a little person enjoying the shade of this toadstool.
