25.01.2022 It's been a while but I have been back in the studio for the past few days. Here is the first production. Ironically named "The Peanut Bowl". It will be in Bridgetown Pottery Gallery tomorrow.

24.01.2022 Small bowl, 12cm square.

22.01.2022 One of the nice things about being a glass artist is making stuff for own home. Now that our living area is white with black and yellow features I was able to make a glass bowl and drinks coasters to suit. This week's production shown. Ready to make different coloured bits and pieces when the powers that be decide on a new theme.

22.01.2022 Finished my stint at The Rabbit Hole today. Had a blast and met lots of nice people. Thank you to all who visited and to the other resident artists for their support and enthusiasm

21.01.2022 My kiln has been running almost non-stop this week. Attached are my latest creations - Window Dollies

20.01.2022 Don't Cry Princess

19.01.2022 My latest clock. Displayed at the Jalbrook Alpaca Gallery on the main street of Balingup. I am happy to make clocks to order.

19.01.2022 A cold day in the studio. Glad to be sitting close to the kiln.

18.01.2022 Latest batch of beads. Improving all the time.

17.01.2022 Bridgetown Pottery staged a fund raising exhibition on Saturday night and the theme was "A Daughter's Gift". Funds were raised for the Charlie Gairdner Leukemia and Lymphoma project. My piece, also entiteld "A Daughter's Gift", sold on the night.

16.01.2022 Meet Gilbert! I have been back in the studio and Gilbert is the first work to emerge. He is on display at the wonderful Lava Art Glass Gallery & Studio in Bunbury with a few other pieces of mine. If you haven't been there you will find the gallery on the Marlston Waterfront - well worth a visit.

16.01.2022 Started setting up my new glass workshop/studio at home today. New room built within shed, benches and shelving ready for installation, many boxes to unpack. Very excited.

16.01.2022 Beach themed window or wall hangers produced this week. HappyPics!

15.01.2022 Enjoyed a day of tuition with Nalda Hoskins in Busselton yesterday. Nalda is an expert bead maker and I learnt many new techniques from her. Can't wait to practise and improve my repertoire. If any of my friends (or anyone you know) want to learn how to make beads I highly recommend Nalda.

15.01.2022 A glass birdfeeder, made this week

15.01.2022 My latest drop-method bowl.

14.01.2022 After a long break (long story!) I am now back in the glass studio. First kiln firing today. Hopefully more postings soon. Matthew

14.01.2022 Back in the studio. New tool, new technique, new item.

14.01.2022 Following the sale of our home and business last week I have temporarily packed up my glass studio - it will be unpacked and I will be creating again in early September. Cheers. Matthew

13.01.2022 After a long break I am now back home in Bridgetown. My workshop will be "re-ignited" next week and new works will follow soon after.

12.01.2022 A bit of colour for winter. Table bowl, 24cm.

11.01.2022 A lot of colour in this one

09.01.2022 Been busy in the studio for the last couple of weeks, mainly making items on commission. This platter made for a friend who requested it for a friend's birthday.

08.01.2022 Three Beach Huts wall hanging

08.01.2022 I am working down the Rabbit Hole again this week. Please come and see me and the other artists doing our stuff. I would love to meet you and show you how I make beads. I'm down there 10-4 Thurs/Fri/Saturday and 10-2 on Sunday.

07.01.2022 Next week (1st-8th July except Monday) I will be making glass beads Down The Rabbit Hole. For those that don't know, The Rabbit Hole is a basement space in Bridgetown's main street comprising nine studio spaces where local artists work under the gaze of anyone that is interested. Come and see me and have a chat (and view my glass). Look forward to seeing you.

07.01.2022 At last I am back in the studio. Have decorated part of studio wall with a Mondrian inspired paint job - a work in progress. Also got a few miniture beach scenes into the kiln. Happy so far, more to come soon.

05.01.2022 My first attempt at a drop slump. It's about 10cm high. Created by making a round hole mould, suspending it above the kiln shelf, heating glass to +/- 690c and letting the middle drop through slowly. Happy with result.

04.01.2022 Great day at Balingup Art & Craft Fair yesterday. The sunshine didn't help the photo but it created a lovely environment on the verandah.

03.01.2022 Yesterday's production.

02.01.2022 A bit of colour for winter.

02.01.2022 B#@^&R! Sometimes I open the kiln to discover a disaster. I was hoping for a beautiful, unique, wildly coloured bowl for the table but it was not to be. At least I can re-use the glass in another format one day. Onto the next!

01.01.2022 This Saturday, 7th May, I will be taking part in the Arts & Crafts Fair at Balingup. I will be one of the many (20+) "artists in reseidence" at properties in the main street. On the verandah of Teede Realty I will be making glass beads from 10am-4pm. Hope to see some of you there.

01.01.2022 Having lots of fun in my shed. Going through a very productive period, my kiln has been on 10 days in a row.
